Marion did not come but was working in Woodstock. Beth went to Acadia this year with Marion. Mr & Mrs Coffin went to New Annan NS the first week in July and Mr & Mrs Gough from O’Leary came to Cavendish.
Oct 5 Reggie Macneill died of cancer. Lorraine and Donna stayed with us until Aug 29th. Anita went to Ottawa Aug 11th. October was a lovely bright sunny month and quite dry. Potato crops good and weather wonderful for digging. Dad helped his neighbours. We seem to escape the very bad storms that struck the US and Atlantic coast. Got into Town for a day on the 10th and Mr & Mrs Gough. Pauline and family get out every two weeks but she wont be able for many more trips when the roads get bad.
Nov 11 Ralph Stewarts have a son, Frank Milton.
Dec 4 Pauline went to Hospital and Wallace Douglas came out for us and we went to Town in a hurry. Ernest came out on the 11th to vote at the Provincial Election. The Liberal Government has a good majority again. I came home in the Panel truck on the 19th.

24th Wonderful car road up to the 24th. It snowed and drifted that day but cleared up on the
25th We had Fred & Hester here for dinner. Roads bad. Anna fell and broke her left leg
25 this evening. Snow on her shoes and she fell.
27 A lot of snow falling and New York getting a record snow fall for three days. Nova Scotia has had about 3 ft of snow and PEI two feet in the last week of Dec. Some terrible tragedys and fires. A mother and two children burned to death on Christmas in Elmsdale (Mrs Kenneth Mathews).
31 Men out breaking roads but Bobby didn’t get around. He has missed several days. The snow has all Island roads blocked. Have not had any zero weather to date. Little Peter & Ernie Webb had measles at Christmas. Ethel was sick too. There was quite an epidemic of measles in Norval.
