29 in this evening. Laura Fenner in this AM, brought a bottle of cream and 1 dozen eggs.
30 Cleaning the north bed room and painting the woodwork. Papered the closet. Fred & Hester in this evening.
31 Fine and busy all day. Painting and scrubbing and tired by supper time. Sadie took me over to French River to Browns store. Got quite a supply of wall paper and half a gallon of molasses.
June 1 Ernest & I to shore this morning. The beach is nicer than it has been for years but it was blowing hard and we didn’t stay long. A gale all day and some rain this evening.
2nd A nice day. Heber brought four men out & Terry. The men are putting the water system in the new Hotel. Getting room front bed room ready to paper.
3 Poured rain most of night and all day. Got our room papered.
4 Washed and moved furniture into front room. Too tired at night to think.
5 Blowing a gale all day. Mabel brought a lady over in the evening. She is attending the Federated Institute Convention in Halifax and is from Simcoe, Ont. A great lover of LM Montgomery books. Dad helping at the Hall.

blowing as hard. Getting another room ready to paper. Washed the pink muresco off of the ceiling. Tired?
7 A lovely morning early but thick fog came in over the sea and hung low until afternoon. Airing bedding. Dad planted three little spruce trees on the lawn. Stirling planted a little winter birch. Heber out for the men. Women and men cleaning up the Hall, getting ready for the Anne of Green Gables play.
November 15 A lot of things have happened since June 7th. Nan came home around the middle of June. We papered seven rooms. Clarence Stewart was here for ten days shingled the south side kitchen roof and put in windows. Cut door from hall into the room over kitchen and put insultation and Gyproc plaster. Ernest has the floor down now, is ready for the finish but is helping Fred grade potatoes. Our east cellar wall fell in in May and we just got it fixed up this week. Lorraine & Harold & Donna came home the last week in July for Verna’s wedding. We had a lovely summer, very warm and pretty dry in July. Grain ripened very early. Potato crops very good. We were eating our new potatoes in July. Four young men were drowned one Sunday afternoon at Cavendish Beach. That was in August. The Brintons had a very short holiday this year.
