26 Quite cold to-day. Mr & Mrs Coffin got home in evening and came over. We had letters from Anita & Waine & Harold.
28 Snowing and blowing but we washed and Dad hung the clothes in the Club House. Turned very cold at night and blew a gale. Temp down to zero.
29 Zero. Roads bad, have drifted and are very heavy.
30 Not a bad day. Mr Coffins have a Navy lad from the West for the weekend. Gordon Fyfes have a boy.
31 S. A fine day but roads heavy. Got a few letters written in evening. Its been a long hard year for many many people the world over.
Austin & Vivian Graham have a bran new girl. Jan 2nd
Pauline LePage Henry has another boy. No. 2. Jan 2nd
January 1945
1 Temp 30 this morning and it snowed and then turned to rain. A quiet day here.
2 40. What a thaw, hardly any snow left, ice on the driveway. Had letter from all the family except PJ. Dad has gone to Rustico for groceries. Bad sleigh road.
3rd A perfectly lovely day and we went to Town with Mr & Mrs Coffin in the afternoon. A perfect road and we got home about midnight, came out in 55 min. Had a nice visit with Pauline & Terry and called on Enid & Reuel and went to a show. Brought home a hamper of apples.
4 Another lovely day and we got Jack to take us to S. Side. Mrs Coffin came along too. Willie McKendrick is in S. Side Hospital and that was why we went up. A grand road, almost no snow and not cold.
5 38. Everything afloat this morning, must have rained hard in the night. Froze a little this afternoon. Temp down to 28A this evening. Sewing to-day.
6 Colder to-day 4A this morning colder to-night. Did some cleaning up. Rev Major MacIntosh died

7 A lovely morning, not blowing but around zero. Heber & Pauline & Terry arrived at 12:10 for dinner and twas mighty good to have ‘em. Storm warning this evening.
