had a nice afternoon in Town and saw the Show “Going my Way.” Supper at Paulines of course.
28 Cloudy this morning and pouring by 4 PM. Dad dug some of the dahlias and a bushel of parsnips. I haven’t done very much. Has rained every Saturday night for last four weeks.
29 S. A terrible gale and rain. A plane crashed at Mount Pleasant. Two boys killed. Mr & Mrs Coffin in after church at night. Tide over the bridges between here and Stanley. Froze at night.
30 28A. Ground froze this morning and wind cold.
31 26A. A nice enough day but wind cold. Cleaning windows in the forenoon and spent the afternoon in Kensington with Mrs Stirling. Very cool in evening.
Nov 1st A lovely day. Ernest got more windows on and the last of dahlias dug. Annie Moore up for afternoon. Shelling beans.
2 Another lovely day and Mr & Mrs Coffin took us to Town in afternoon. We went to show in evening Four Jills in a Jeep. Amusing and we had a laugh.
3 Washed and ironed and tired at night. Another perfect day.
4 Bad headache in morning and kept it up most of day. Scrubbed and waxed kitchen floor.

5 Another rainy Sunday and turned into a real

storm at night. Mr Coffin took us over to the Manse to supper and church.
5 Blowing a gale, raining and snowing. Men in Cemetery digging grave. George Henry died in the Infirmary on Saturday. Funeral this afternoon.
6 No men here to-day and it’s a wild day with some snow in the rain. Willie Toombs have a son, their first.
7 Still stormy. Election Day in the United States and Roosevelt is returned to White House for fourth time. Victory Loan over the top in PEI.
8 A worse day than yesterday, blowing from North and showery all day. Shelled beans in the afternoon. Sick all night.
9 Don’t remember much about to-day. Slept all day. Dad set bread.
10 Got up to kneed up the bread and stayed on couch most of day. Ernest went to Town, took Jack, Hester & Mary. Went to play put on by Trinity YPS. “Anne Of Green Gables.” Rained.
11 Raining most of day and to-night. Quite mild.
12 S. Rained most of day and very quiet here.
13 Still damp and didn’t wash but feeling better.
14 Fine to-day and washed. Not cold but very damp and clothes out all night. Una up this afternoon.
