17 at about 2:30. Didn’t have long to wait at the boat and got to Moncton and settled in a not too warm cabin by dark. Called Mrs Rain Keith on ‘phone and we had dinner there on Monday
18 and spent a few hours looking around. Saw Gertrude Corey Perry and Soph McKnight. Saw the place after being away forty-two years. We went to St. John that night and stayed in the “Balmoral” Cabins and did a little shopping in
19 St. John and had dinner in Sussex and did a little more shopping in Moncton and got home around 10 o’clock tired and happy after a wonderful trip (and went to York in the evening)
20 Big washing and busy day and on Thursday
39 Anniversary
21st Anita spent in Town and on Friday
22 finished her packing. Always a hard day for all of us.
23 Mr Coffin took Nan to Station and I had a busy day with 3 extra men for dinner. Mr Smith and Jack Connolly and Mr Matheson the auditor. About all in.
24 Had a quiet day. A few people around. Went to church at night with Mr Coffin to New Glasgow.
25 Went to Town with Grant, he took our car to garage for repair. Had dinner with Enid and supper with Pauline. Terry is a darling.
Sept & Oct
26 Washed. Mr Smith up in afternoon.
27 Dad went to Town with Grant to see BW LePage etc. Away most of day.
28 Pouring rain and Ernest fell when bring in the ice, slipped on the slope by Club House and tore the ligament of his left arm. Mr Coffin took him to S. Side to see Dr Claude. Just poured rain all day. Grant away all day.
29 Still raining and no one working here to-day. Ernest not suffering any. Sewing on my two piece flowered dress.
30 Cold to-day but fine.
1 Oct A rather cold day. Pauline & family and Elmer & Jean out to supper. I had a grand walk right to the back of the Golf Course & in West Lane & trail.
2 A miserable day and getting worse at night, wind north and blowing a gale all night. Finished my 2-piece dress.
3 Wind kept up all day but no rain to-day. Washed.
4 Finer but wind cold. 4 playing Golf. Got my geraniums in and apples cut up for jelly.
5 Went to Rustico with Eric & Marion, made jelly and did my ironing and made grape jam.
6 Expect Claude Dennis and his wife and friends for dinner but they came about 9 PM and we had fine chat until midnight. Rained that night.
