26 She came back at 3:10 and Mother only lasted a few minutes after that. It was pretty terrible. We did what we could and came home around 10 PM.

27 A lovely day. Enid & Reuel came out after dinner and brought Pauline & Terry. Terribly tired to-night. Enid stayed out. Myron preached in Tryon and Ernest went with him. Got home around midnight.
28 We went with Reuel & Enid to the funeral in the church. Mother looked very nice at least 15 years younger. Myron went to Town with Reuel on his way to Convention at Wolfville.
29 Poured rain and stormed. The Wood Island ferry turned back and Myron had to go by plane to New Glasgow, NS and by bus to Hfx. We went to Town in afternoon took Marion & Beth.
30 & 31 Did a big washing and busy getting ready for Col Dodge & wife.
Sept 1 Col Dodge arrived, very quiet nice people. Dorothy Toombs shower. We were tired but went anyway. They left on the 11th. Think maybe they were bride and groom. Don Gratto came on the 4th Labor Day. It was a hectic day. Pauline, Heber & Terry were out, Ruth & John & Bobby. Myron got back from Wolfville and left for Woodstock on the 6th.
6th Dorothy Toombs & Robert Crawford married
5 Don Gratto here all week. Reuel from Sat night until Wed night. We took him to Town and saw the show “The White Cliffs of Dover”. Very busy all week, a good many around. Getting very tired. Brought Miss Constance Seeley out from Town, she is staying at Georges. Hazel has had a good summer. So has Anna and Mary Lorne. Lovely weather and the Golf Course looks beautiful.
11 Not a tourist car in to-day.
12 A perfect day, a few cars in. Mrs Profitt over in afternoon.
14 A cloudy day but didn’t rain, had rained in night. We went to S. Side in afternoon. Made up one basket of plums. Gales and plenty of damage
15 done alone United States Atlantic Coast. The wind struck here around four PM but no damage done except that our apples are all on the ground. The storm went out to sea.
16 A lovely day but cool to-night. Anita got a telegram from Miss Gould offering her $50 a month at Knox College. Also got a card saying Willie May & Belle were coming down to-morrow. We are planning a trip to NB with Heber and Pauline. Howard Hurst here to-night.
17 May & Belle and Willie got down and Heber & PJ came along after dinner. We got away on our trip
