27 A lovely day. Girls washed. I did a little bit of every thing. Lorraine made 3 pints of wild strawberry jam. We went to Rustico for fish, got an 8 lb fish for 40c went in to Alfreds on the way home and fixed Annie up for the night. Rubbed her and bathed her.
Elaine Lairds Birthday
July 9 Have been in with Pauline, she was very miserable but we took her to Hospital last night and her baby boy was born this morning around 10 AM. Heber brought me home at night and I stayed a week. Very hot day and very busy one out here. Went back to Town on the 16th and came home on the 26th. Little Terry a darling and Pauline is gaining strength everyday and getting in the sun.

Aug 9 Lorraine and Harold Vessey married. We had a nice wedding in the church at 6 PM. A perfect day all day. All the invited guests here except Heber and he went to Kentville this week to an Odd Fellow convention and couldn’t get back in time. Terry a darling and loved by all. Lorraine & Harold going to Keiths and Marions and Niagara. We have had a very little rain lately and fields are getting very dry and hard.

Heber got back this afternoon and came out for Pauline & Terry. Made ice-cream.
10 with Grant. Went with the Brintons up to see Mother. She is failing, eats very little.
11 A little rain this morning, put some of plants (geraniums) out. We canned 17 tins of beans and want to do as many more to-morrow.
From 11 until the 19th we had very hot dry weather. The grain ripened in a week and Will Graham had grain cut and thrashed before the 20th.
20th had a big crowd around. Heber & Pauline came out. Terry just six weeks old and he is growing lovely. Myron preached in Baptist Church all night and in New Glasgow in the morning.
21 Too tired to wash. Our boarders left after dinner.
22 Rained some this morning but we did a big washing. Got away after six o’clock. Took Elaine and Eleanor with us and went to Dalvey.
23 A lot around to-day. Quite a bunch of men out from Town playing Golf. Some of them quite lit up. Eleanor and Bill Johnston in this evening. They had been down to Roy Toombs. Dorothy is to be married on Sept 6th.
25 Over to Elaines to-night for ice-cream and evening and Anna came to say that Mother was worse. We went up and Elaine stayed all night. I came home but didn’t sleep. Went up around 9 o’clock Saturday morning and Myron took Elaine home for some rest.
