24 Ernest did about all he could to back porch. I made another apron. News good.
January was a very fine month with sunshine almost everyday. Family write every week. Keith has had plenty of worry but will come out alright. He is to be married to Ethel Swindlehurst on Feb 3rd.
Feb 1 Was a nice day, we washed and I did some cleaning upstairs. Glad I did for it was snowing and
2 6B much colder and drifting to-day. Mr Coffin went to Town yesterday so Mrs C. is about.
3 Keith and Ethel Swindlehurst to be married to-day at Balinafad and going to Ottawa for a couple of days. Pretty cold here but not blowing quite so hard. Knitting gloves for Dad.

4 A lovely day and Mr Coffin got home. The crockinole party was at Ern McNeills at night.
5 Another fine day. The girls went up to Freds in afternoon and Dad went to Rustico for groceries. The Maple Leafs beat the Detroit Red Wings in 3 to 1 game.
6 Raining and temp up to 42A. Young Peoples Service at Church to-night. Pretty cold all this week. Ernest went to Town
10 to-day to see Pauline and get something we needed. He got home on Saturday morning in quite a
12 snow storm which got much worse by noon. Was glad he got home anyway. In on Sunday I wasn’t
Feb & March
Concert in Hall on 16th Stanley Bridge crowd put it on
13 feeling very well. Roads bad and Mr Coffin did not get to New Glasgow and their wasn’t any
14 Church service here. Monday was fine and I got up but should have stayed in bed and
17 had to until the 17th got up around 4 o’clock
18 Getting around, another bad snow storm and getting much colder to-night. Washed and Ernest put clothes in the Club House.
19 2B and around zero all day and blowing and drifting. Hester at French River, Gertrude quite sick for some time.
20 Zero. Fine to-day but still cold. Men breaking roads this morning. Got a few letters written to-day. Feb a pretty cold month and we had a lot of snow and cold. Was crippled with sore back. Our first rain on Feb 28 and fog for three days.
March 1st calm in morning but turned cold at night and has continued bitter cold all week with north wind and zero weather. Mrs Coffin in Town for a week.
4th Still bitter cold
5 S. Fine. Mr Coffin here for dinner and supper and Una here for supper and Eric Bell for the rest of day.
6 Fine. Dad went to Bells for oats. Pretty tired to-day.
7 Washed and ironed. Started to snow in afternoon and blew a gale snow hail and rain. Mrs Coffin got home. Una in Town.
