12 Dec Mabel Simpson has baby girl.
Nov 29 Washed in AM and PJ took Mrs Coffin and me to S. Side in afternoon. Had a nice afternoon.
30 Came up quite a wicked storm around 4 PM and a great many people were caught out in it and had to leave their cars on the highway. Heber got as far as Hunter River and turned back and reached Town OK.
Dec 1 Roads bad, were not broken and go every way. Pauline went back to Town on the
3rd Heber met her at Rustico. They have the pavement opened up. Cold for a few days. Dad got a horse from Bruce Graham and takes the girls to school in the morning.
8 Milder and nothing strange or startling doing. Keith’s birthday.
9 Threatened and did rain to-day. Sewing.
13 Rev Ewen Macdonald died Hospital in Toronto. Cold weather and snow flurries.

14 Got telegram from Chester. Chester and Stuart arrived Friday night at Hunter River with their Fathers body. Jim Andrews brought the body over Sat morning the 18th. Had Annie Earl for two days. Funeral here Saturday afternoon the
Dec 18th Desperately cold all week. Mr Coffin helped Dad out in the trips to Hunter River. Rev RM Buntain of Clifton was the officiating clergyman, Mr Coffin assisting. Jim Campbell came. Very cold weather all the next week and roads bad. We went to Rustico
22nd on Wed. Very cold and drifting. Called at Roy Toombs to see Dorothy. Dad went to Hunter
23 River for skis for girls and froze his nose. Lewis Toombs went to Hunter River that night for Cora and the train was very late and they didn’t get home until 4 AM Friday. School concert Thursday night and the girls were quite excited and did very well.
24 The highway not open to Rustico so Pauline and Heber could not get out and we asked Mr & Mrs Coffin over for Christmas day.
25 Was a nice day and everyone quite happy. Pretty nice to have Mr & Mrs Coffin for the day.
26 A nice day but we were home all day. Tired all day.
27 Didn’t wash but it was fine in morning. The Green girls and Mr & Mrs Coffin went to Town. 8B. Snowed and blew hard at night and bitter cold. Oliver Bernard died at Elvas home in Kensington. He has been in bed for some time, had a second stroke. Funeral the 31st.
30 We were invited to Manse to dinner and we went to see Mrs McCoubrey. She has been in bed about
