Nov 1942 & Dec
26 Fine day, sewing. Ernest up to Bay in afternoon.
27 Another fine day and not cold. Finished hauling in our wood. Grant here to dinner. Girls getting along fine. Anita got a bonus on her second weeks work.
28 Poured rain most of night, tuned colder and quite a snow storm with wind south east north east and northwest. 18 above to-night and blowing a gale.
29 S. Still blowing but fine. Electric current went off yesterday so we had no lights radio or telephone. Its been a long day.
30 Fine day. Austin & Dad went to Creek with truck by way of Park and around the cape road. Dad & I were down to Alecs at night with a sleigh.
Dec 1st Austin took truck to Town via Kensington. Men working on telephone line. Its badly smashed and a lot of posts down.
2 Austin took mower blades to Town and brought the truck out again. Messers Smith and Connolly have their office in the Tourist Bureau building. Knitting mostly. Terrible rain and gale.
3 Dad got a box of chocolates from Ina & Louise, $18.00 from Lorraine and a card from Anita & Pauline. Nice day but wind cold.
4 Another nice day with cold S. West wind. Got the new out side window on pantry. Mrs Darnley not so good. Still no radio or lights and the telephone out again too. Planning to go to S. Side to-morrow.
Dec 1942
5 A nice day but a cold wind. Jack took us to S. Side and to Carleton where we had a grand goose supper. Got home around 8 PM to find the lights on in the dining room after a whole week without them and the radio.
6 S. Another nice day and not cold. Heber came out at noon and took Dad to church to-night. A quiet day but good to have the radio.
7 Fine day. Washed. Dad putting plugs in pipes below the road. Did ironing this afternoon.
8 A nice cold day, blowing. Ernest put out the clothes and I got the washing and ironing done. A bit weary at night. Keiths birthday. Good clear walking and a good car road.

9 12A. Another nice day. Washed curtains. Dad and I spent the evening at the Manse. Very heavy white frost when we came home and calm and cold.
10th Fine day again. Nothing special doing. Clear sunny day.
11 Dark and a fine snow falling from noon. Jack took us to Town. We took Mary & Anna. The road good except Pattersons Hill and Browns.
12 Still cloudy and little spits of snow but not cold. Trying to get things done for Christmas.
13 Anitas birthday, 31 to-day. A lovely fine day. Ernest and I walked to the shore and came back over the pond. Wrote a lot of letters and cards.
14 Colder and blowing busy knitting. Wind chill.
