8  Wm Robinson funeral this afternoon from North Rustico church to South Rustico Anglican Church.

9  A nice day. Washed. Tired at night. Dad went to Town and got a load of coal and a mattress.

 

10  Colder to-day but fine. Dad shingled a strip on West Side of house. Mr McCallum and Connolly here to dinner. Mrs Rollings funeral this afternoon.

 

11  Mild and raining some. Armistice programs on radio and from Ottawa. Ernest clearing up around and working at shutters and windows.

 

12  A nice day. Two English Air Lads came along about 1:30 and I fed them. Homesick nice English lads. We went to Rustico in the evening. Ernest made calls on 3 Air Detection Observers and we spent the evening at Ben Woolners while Jack went to his training class.

 

13  Not so hot. Keith came up with Mischief and we took him home at night by way of French & Long River. Poured rain.

 

14  Busy all day cleaning Kitchen & pantry etc & so on. Went to Town at night and didn’t do much. Snowing on the way home. Took Milton George C. & Lorne McNeill.

 

15  S. 22A. Cold this morning and blowing hard from North. Reuel and Enid came out before dinner and went to Bay View in afternoon. Calmer to-night and cold.

16  A lovely day. Washed. Busy trying to get pajamas made for Ina and Louise. Margaurite Graham and Oliver Coles married on the 18th. Mr McCallum up once and Mr Smith. Mosie stopped work here on Thursday. Austin Graham still working. A shower at Jerry Simpsons the 19th. Didn’t go but we gave Helen a plate. Some nice days but cold the last of week.

 

20  Got the pyjamas and 1 pr sockies away to day. Mending all day and made apple sauce and cooked crab apples. Very dark all day.

 

21  Quite a cool wind to-day. The planes out. Did Fridays & Saturdays work. Got our little stove up up stairs. Dad waxed the kitchen floor.

22  A nice day. Dad went to Church in the morning and Jack took us to Brackley and to Town to church. Heard a grand service all through. Car lights got tired and went to sleep but we got home OK. Clarence Reids building burned at night.

 

23  A fine day but cold wind. Washed and wrote Anita. Reception and dance at Ed Grahams to-night. War news grand.

 

24  Headache but got up at 10 and we went to Town after dinner. Got car lights fixed and got a hamper of apples. Saw a show at night, “The Remarkable Andrew”.

 

25  Another fine day after very heavy white frost and red sun rise. Ironed. Grant McCallum up in afternoon.
