Mr and Mrs Hawkes to Ch Town with us. Got my permanent at long last and all my books paid for. Had a nice day poking around the stores. Elaine came and stayed with Mother and Pauline. Twenty five here for meals. Cold to-night.
Feels like frost
26 Warm dry and very fine. Had 33 for meals to-day. Two parties from Summerside and one from Town. Pretty tired at night. Almost frost at night.
27 Another perfect day all day and warmer this evening. Had ten in for eats so not too busy. People getting away now and twill soon be very quiet.
28 Lovely early but clouded over and to-night its raining just a little. Not anyone for eats to-day. Graham Rogers here this evening, decidedly lit up. Thank goodness he didn’t stay. Went in to Lewis Toombs with Pauline to-night. Mrs Stirling & Doris, Mrs Wright & Sidney and Lillian Stirling here this afternoon.
29 Rather busy most of day. Norman Morris came along at noon and spent the afternoon with us. Went to Town with rest of family. Quite cold until evening. Blowing hard, wind east.
30 A lovely day and everyone very tired this morning but the girls fed 45 this afternoon. Elaine and family over. Her last Sunday here. Mother pretty peppy to-day. Tremendous haul of Irish Moss.
31 Girls washed, everyone tired. Not so many around and Pauline took Dad & I down to Keiths in evening.

Keith had finished his harvest and thrashing to-day. Aug 31st. Four farmers working to-gether.
Sept 1 86. A terribly hot day. We had Mr & Mrs Baker over for supper with the family. Myron came home from Wolfville and the family all over.
3 87. Desperate hot and so dry. The ground is very hard and dry. Just all in to-night. The Brintons over to say good-bye. The Bakers too. Elva & Art married at Manse.

3 Cooler this morning and precious little sleep. Desperately weary. Picked the beans that are dry and the wind came around N. West and blew hard and such a dust. Calmed down some and quite cold to-night. Went to Rustico with the girls.
4 Perfectly lovely day. Girls went down in morning for moss and picked over twelve bags. Quite busy as Mother wasn’t very well all day. Tired at night.
5 Another fine day and tho’ cloudy and dark to-night does not look much like rain. Mother has had several reaching spells to-day. Busy all day. Got 12 lbs of beans shelled and cleaned. Girls went to Town to-night. Claire Hope coming out from Town with Anita.
6 Cold wind to-day. Quite a number of Nova Scotia people over and around to-day. Edwin Simpson preached in Rustico Cavendish and Stanley. Anita Dad Pauline & Heber went to Stanley to-night. Cecil down and informed me that he was coming down for Mother the last of week. Willie Toombs here to ask the girls down to a shower for Elva Bernard.
