Feb 1937
4 Clear and cold. Neta and Dad went to Hunter’s River but didn’t get their teeth. Neta had another tooth out. Busy evening at exams.
5 -16. -30 at HR. Beautiful clear day – and everything sparkling with white frost. Nothing much doing. YPS at Jas. R. Stewarts. We girls went & took Mr. Pat & Douglas. Nanny down for afternoon.
6 0. Cloudy, but rather a nice day. Sewing Club at Ern’s in afternoon. Nellie and Hazel here for supper. We girls went to rink at Stanley at night. Stanley Juniors & Cavendish boys playing hockey. 5-2 in favour of Stanley. Snowing when we got home at 11:15.
7 Sunday. Snowing – soft. United Church in morning. Fair crowd. Very quiet afternoon. Robbie and Edward here in evening.
8 Still snowing but very gently. Dad to Alf. Moore’s in evening. Eric Bell and Eric Simpson here to a committee meeting in evening and we had a very good game of Monopoly.
9 Silver thaw – raining quite hard all day. Eric & Earle, Elmer and Edward here threshing most all day. Mice had been rather awful. Dad thinks he will be a bit short of grain. Dad and Neta went up the road in evening & Neta got her hair cut. Her jaw is still bothering her a lot. Dr. Claude left for Vancouver. His father isn’t very well.

10 Perfect day. Very mild and snow is absolutely rotten. Dad went to town in morning. Girls washed. Edward over to do barn work. Lowell here in afternoon. Dora & Ira married at home at 7:00 PM. PJ & Neta went to charivari and had a big time. Dora married in navy transparent velvet.
11 Lovely day. Some snow in afternoon. Dad got home OK. Heard Myron speak over the radio this morning. Busy getting things ready for Valentine social at Roy Lairds. Letter from Mums. She is in Toronto now.
12 Lovely day and not cold. Lowell here helping Dad with ice. It is only 13 in. thick. Pond very high. Took woodsleigh and took Helen, Mary & Freda to YPS at Roy Lairds. Dorothy & Irma sick with chickenpox.
13 Fairly mild. Men finished our ice. Amos here too. Sewing club here in afternoon. Girls all here but no women. Home in evening. Ham here.
14 Perfect spring day. Baptist church in afternoon and very good crowd. We were to Johnston’s to try out their new organ. It is a nice one. Sadie & her boy were home. Nice time.
15 Very mild. Snow disappearing fast. Stubble fields beginning to look brown. Nothing much
