24 Just one perfect day. Sept has been a wonderful month this year. Washed, baked. Marion busy. Practice here at night.
25 Fine but quite hot. Ernest and Lorraine went to Jerrys to pick apples and in afternoon Anita PJ and Dad went for cranberries. Keith & Margaret and Arthur up. Chicken supper in hall.
26 YPS Convention in S. Side. Anita and Lorraine went with Eric Bell. Mrs. Paterson Mr Quigley Ellice, Hazel and Miss Stavert and Alvin here to-day.
very hot and dry
27 Very hot day. Packed Marions belonging and shipped them. Everyone tired. Hester & George and Emily Stewart here to-night
28 Lovely day. Went with Marion to Borden. Keith and Margaret got on train at Albany. Alvin took the rest of the family to Borden and we saw our dear girl on the boat. Lorraine and Anita stayed down at K. Will I ever forget that home coming. YPS at Urban Taylors. Lorraine came home
29 Still fine, busy all day. Made jam and jelly. House very quiet. Raining to-night.
30 Rained nearly all day. Baptist church at night

1 Quite cold all day and feels like frost to-night Got a wire from Marion that she had arrived safe. Picking tomatoes cuc’s etc. Lorraine & I went in to Lem’s store to-night. Nearly froze.
2 Heavy frost. First this fall. Lovely fall day. Had a nice letter from Murray which made us feel better. Washed made jelly, crab apple jam and cut up stuff for another dose of chow
3 Perfect day. Finished cranberries and started potatoes. No news
4 Cold and showery. Ernest went to Emerald for Anita. Cleaned and moved into our own bed room and straightened up the landing. Letter from Marion. Marion married at last.
5 Lovely day. Girls and Ernest at potatoes all day. Made tomato jam and ripe cucumber pickles. YPS at Gordon Lairds.
6 Finished potatoes. Marion McKenzie came out in the afternoon and Mrs Ball and Mrs. James here for supper. Decorating church for Thanksgiving. Rained.
7 Thanksgiving. Lovely day after the rain. Mother went to Carleton with Charles & Arthur Jack Clark and Lorraines college chums here Irene and Mrs. MacKay sang in church at night.
8 Cold & windy, took Marion to station. No news.
