24 8A. Snowing until about 2:30 turned to mist. Dad and I went over to John F’s in afternoon. Annie Lowther over in the AM. Mr Quigley came and there was no preaching in the Baptist Church at night.
25 What a change. Thawing like smoke this AM. A wonderful lot of Christmas gifts for everybody. The first Christmas without Keith.
26 Bitter cold zero. Didn’t wash. Ernest thrashing this afternoon. Mrs Wyand & Blanche called. Nellie went home for the week. Edward here this evening.
27 Fine and mild in AM but turned very cold and blew a gale from NW. Snow flurries and drift. 2B at night and
28 8B this morning and still blowing. Ernest kept busy carrying in wood, up at 4:40 this morning lighting fires. Cold wave all across continent. Annie over in afternoon.
29 14B. Carrying in wood and keeping fire going all day. Blowing and drifting and bitter cold. No group.
30 16B. Fine and clear and moderated a little in afternoon. Peter Murray, Jimmy Tennis, Lewis Toombs, etc & Upton and Dora here. Good to see somebody
31 4B. Went up to 18A. Church in afternoon. Had Roy Toombs invited for dinner, but it was too cold for them. Sing song at night. Arthur Wright
drove up from Carleton on a bad road.
Jan 1 1934 26A and snowing just like feathers until afternoon. Wind east and nor’east and started to blow and pile things up generally. Roy Toombs’ family and Arthur here for dinner and afternoon etc &. Much colder at night.
2 Fine and very cold, roads very bad. Keeping four fires on. Arthur over with Edward and nearly froze. Austin took Annie to station. Edward here until 9 PM.
3 10B. Lovely fine but very frosty. Not blowing hard. Girls Anita Waine & Arthur went over to Austins in afternoon. Ellice came home at night. Clarence Stewart & wife and Stirling here this evening. 14B at suppertime, zero at 11 PM and
4 4B this morning. Arthur started for home at 10 AM. 10 B zero to-night. Three girls went over to John F’s.
5 Sewing. Nellie back again. Feeling very punk all day. Went over to see Ellice in the evening. Edward over in the evening. Snowing but not so cold.
