1 Lovely day, Elmer Fyfe took Anita Pauline Edward and I to Carleton in afternoon. Baptist church at night.
2 Raining part of day. Cleared up lovely at night. Peeled a lot of apples for drying and canned five quarts. Ham, Ellice and Annie here this evening til 11 PM.
3 Lovely day, washed, baked. Picked cranberries and Anita and Gertrude went to New Glasgow to Women’s Institute Convention. Charlie Pink up at night. Tired? Oh boy.
4 Heavy white frost. Ironing. Finished cranberries. Freda here in afternoon. PJ & I went over to see John F in evening.
5 Cloudy but fine. Dug Hams potatoes. Girls tired. Letter from Marion. She is going to Chicago with Ken McLuckie[?] to see Jack. Meeting in Mayfield, Liberal, Ernest went.
6 Rained most of night and all day. No news. No YPS to-night. Marion started on her trip to Chicago.
7 Not cold but very wet. Cleaned house and baked. Anita went to Roy Toombs for Lorraine.
8 Pouring all night and all day Sunday. No let up to-night. Wrote to Lottie Simpson and Marion.
Oct 1933
9 Cloudy and misty. Washed and got them dry and partly ironed. Dance at Prestons. Wilbert & Arthur Wright, Alice Jewel, Keith & Margaret came up in evening. Quite warm.
10 Oh did it rain? Sewing all day. Anita & Lorraine went over to Mr Patersons to arrange about program for concert.
11 Lovely morning and day. Churned all forenoon. Anita at her quilt. Three lady tourists here to dinner. Ernest plowing. Anita & PJ at Jerrys to a committee meeting. Lorraine went back to town.
12 Lovely day. Digging potatoes all day. Good crop. Did 40 rows. Milton & Ham here. Tired. Premier Stewart buried to-day.
13 Fine day. Finished potatoes at noon. Prof Loyd Shaw spoke to the YPS in Baptist Church on citizenship and his trip in Scandinavia. Here for lunch.
14 Anita went to Hampshire. PJ & I alone. Saturdays work, etc.
15 Lovely day. Reuels and Lorraine out for dinner. B. Church in afternoon. We went over to Austins at night.
16 Lovely day. Not feeling very good. Cut up stuff for chow & jelly. Tired at night.
