17  Another lovely day. Washed, baked and went to woods with Irene & PJ. Practice here at night.

New baby at Robert Zebs

 

18  Lovely fine day. Institute at Jerrys at night. Baked for Is lunch.

 

19  Lovely day. Ernest pulled beets. Ironed etc. Ham over in evening.

 

20  Cloudy and cool. Blowing a gale to-night. Ernest in Town to Liberal Convention. Got letters from the three girls and box chocolates from Mrs Rees.

 

21  Colder and blowing. Ernest and Ham at mangles.

 

22  Cloudy but not cold. Preparing United Church after painting. Mable Simpson here to dinner.

 

23  Rained a little and warmer. Anita got home from Acklands. Committee meeting at Freds. Herb Lowell & Edward here. Got a little heifer calf. Polly.

 

24  Colder. Ernest finished mangles. Anita went to Freetown with Mr. Paterson to a YPS Convention. Pouring rain to-night.

 

25  Rained very hard and blowing a gale, very warm all day, but colder to-night. Practice here at night. Bad storm on mainland.

Oct 33

 

26  Finer and cold. Blowing. Oyster supper at night. Took in $34.90 at door. Everybody busy helping and tired at night.

 

27  Went up to Hall with Ernest in AM. E grading potatoes in afternoon. YPS at Manse to-night.

 

28  Cloudy and warm, Anita went to Carleton with Ellice and Austin. Headache.

 

29  A regular howler of a storm. Barn roofs off in a good many places. Charlie Wyands roofs off. No service. Terrible sea storm.

 

30  Finer. Helped thrash and picked Sunbury Pippin and Ben Davis apples. PJ at Manse getting ready for Halloween party.

 

31  Ernest & Ham took in the turnips. Halloween party at Manse, CGIT affair. Washed this AM, made doughnuts & tea ring this afternoon.

 

Nov 1st  Cold and wet in AM. Ernest dug dahlias, Glads, carrots, parsnips, etc. Cold job. Finished ironing. Ham here to dinner.

 

2  Fine and not very cold. Went over to Austins in afternoon. Margaret over for the night.

 

3  Lovely day all day. Swept etc in AM and did some baking after dinner. Austin got his mare halfway into turnip pit.

 

4  Snow flurries in afternoon, rained in AM.
