June & July 1933
Elaine & Kiddies came to Cecils
27 with Mr & Mrs. Paterson to see the show Cavalcade. CGIT at night at Cottage. Willie Johnston here white washing.
28 83A. Everyone busy. Girls painting and varnishing. Marion sewing and I quilting. Ernest working on Hall grounds in afternoon. Ham here to supper. Lorraine went to see Calvacade with Wyands. Play bunch went to Wiltshire. $10.35
29 Very warm in morning. Girls varnishing Willis J. white washing. Quilting. Busy and tired. YPS at Rustico. Girls went with Fyfe boys.
30 Elaine, Mother, and the three little Brintons were down for the day. Finished my quilt and Ernest & I went to Creek & Mayfield. Everyone very tired. School Exam.
July 1st What a day. Painted and varnished the dining room and one bed room and Kitchen floors. Enameled washstand, etc. Ernest took Anita to Hunter River. Got our grocery order and lobsters. Anita went to Carleton. Ernest working at Bonnells.
2 Lovely day but wind bitter cold all day. Roy Toombs here in afternoon and for supper.
3 Very busy all day. YPS Picnic at Carleton, Lorraine went and they had a grand time. Mrs Timmins came at night and Adele and Miss Ogden & Miss Blake at 6 PM. Pretty tired.
4 Lovely day. Girls washed. Ernest tilled potatoes and working at Hall. Willie white washing.
July 1933
5 Lovely day, quite warm. At various jobs. Missionary Rally in United Church. Ernest and I swept up Bonnell house.
6 Fine and cooler. May Howard Gill & little boy arrived early and stayed to dinner. Mrs Stirling & Doris here in afternoon and they & Mr. Stirling had tea with us. Mrs Monroe & Miss Monroe Pembroke Ont here for night.
7 Lovely day. Rupert McNeill & Williard Caseley arrived with tent and camped behind cottage. Mr Bonnell and family arrived from Winnipeg. Charlie McKenzie here in evening. Blew a gale all day. Very dry.
8 Cloudy all day and raining to-night. Elaine and Kiddies down for day. Misses Finlayson here for night. Girls got clams.
9 Fine. Alvin and Aunt Lizzie down for day and night. Busy day, very tired.
10 Fine but cool. Relaxed a little after the busy three days. Had a clam bake behind the cottage.
11 Fine. went up to Freds in afternoon and to Rustico and Ben Woolners at night. Mrs Ben not very well. Mrs Boothroyd at CGIT. Cloudy but no rain.
12 Fine day and cool. First Orange Tea in Cavendish. Crapand play One on bill. Very good at night.
13 All a bit tired. Italian Air Fleet passed over the Island on way to Chicago from Italy. Ernest saw 7 planes. There was 24 planes and 97 men.
