20  Very hot to-day and sticky. Heavy thunder storm at night. Sewing to-day. Everybody tired to-night.

 

21  Had another good rain this afternoon and more thunder. Ernest & Clarence out on telephone line. It was smashed up in storm last night and several post smashed down by Guy Rollings. Painting sewing and baking.

 

22  Lovely day after rain and the O’Leary crowd Jim, Lizzie, Elmer Isabelle and Lillian were down. Alf Simpson and Charlie Joe were here to supper on lawn. Restaurants opened at shore to-day.

 

23  Very warm in forenoon, showers in afternoon. Mr Fraser & family arrived and are in Mr Bonnells house. Girls washed and picked berries. Concert practiced to-night.

 

24  Fine. Sewing all day. Went down to Bob McKenzie’s to a committee meeting. Hoeing in garden. Keith hilled potatoes. Everybody tired.

 

25  Fine. Marion sick in AM but went to Emerald to-night to help Stanley.

25  Making sheets. Ernest at cottage.

 

26  Lovely day but pretty warm. Varnishing floors. Ernest & I went to Rustico.

 

27  Very warm all day. Busy. Keith and Anita whitewashing and painting. Orange Lodge concert at night. The old folks stayed home.

 

28  Fine and blowing hard. Had a little birthday picnic for Mother to-day. Everybody very tired to-night. Elaine and family Enid & family and Cecils’ here.

 

29  Fine and very dry. Dust bad again. Tremendous crowd at shore. Church in afternoon, not many there.

 

30  Another very dry, hot day. Girls washed. Marion in bed, tired out. Sick last night but is better to-night. Got church organ fixed.
