29 mean to-night. Thyra here for the night. Mrs. RY McCoubrey died on the 27th.
30 Lovely fine day but blowing a fierce gale. Thyra went home after dinner. No preaching anywhere to-day.
31 Lovely day, still blowing hard all day. Ernest in the woods. The kids moved my bed down to front room. Wind went down in evening. Jack Bulmans have a new baby.
January 1929
1 Just a perfect day, no snow anywhere. Ernest and Keith in woods. Mrs Wyand Blanche Ethel and Mother called. Feeling pretty mean to night. The girls went up to Freds to see Gertrude and baby. Mrs Albert sent me a lovely basket of fruit.
2 Cloudy early but mild all day. Cecil Ernest Milton Green and Mrs Wyand went to Town. Took car to Hunter River. A lot of sickness in town and S. Side. Flu.
3 Working in woods in afternoon. Cecil sick and their sick at Herbs. Colder to-night. Thyra and girls went to church.
4 4A. Snowing a little to-day and blowing a gale and very cold to-night. Ernest at Cecils all day. Alfred Moores have a baby girl no.3.
5 5B. Very cold this AM but moderating. Cecil better. Eddie Douce there. Anita sick to-day. To much fried spuds and apples. Harry Lowther died to-night of pneumonia.

6 Got the word of Harry Lowther’s death this AM. Feeling all in all day. Snow and sleet and rain and finally a regular downpour at night. Very quiet all day. No church.
