7  Fine but not quite as hot as yesterday. Planted beans and potatoes. Pauline at Jerrys at night. Liberal meeting in Mayfield.

 

8  Lovely day. Cecil took Ernest & I with them to Tryon in their new car. Had a lovely day and feel a little tired. Forty six cars at the shore this afternoon.

 

9  Showery early but turned out warm. Ernest set out tomato plants. Girls washed. Gordons came this evening. Play Eyes of Love at Rustico. Made $37.22.

10  Very warm, early but wind came cooler. Girls tired. Lydie at shore all day. They got a nice bunch of trout. Finished the work on house. Working on Lorraines dress.

 

11  Fine and very hot. Ernest & Gordon started the cottage. Sewing, etc. Went up to Bay View for clams. Play Mummy[?] and the Mumps.

 

12  Very hot weather. Everybody busy. Baked for Institute bunch. Institute at Jerrys. Good meeting. Tired.

13  Still very hot and dry. Temp 83A. Got a picture of Bonnell children. Sewing.

 

14  Fine and hot, the temp has been up to 80 degrees almost every day for nearly two weeks. Looks like rain tonight. Gordon & Lydie went home this evening. Set out celery and garden plants.

 

15  86A. Very, very hot. Big crowd at shore. Had a quiet day. Preaching in afternoon. Ernest & I walked to shore in evening. Tired.

 

16  89A to 90A above to-day and blowing hard. We need rain badly. Washed bedding and painting and sewing. Went out for school bills in evening.

 

17  Much cooler to-day. Washed bedding. Play in Stanley at night (Wanted a Wife) They took Ren Toombs to Falconwood today.

 

18  Cloudy and cooler. Girls papered front porch. Mrs Albert and Lorne up this evening in their new car.

 

19  Nice shower this morning. Ernest & I went to Town with Cecil and Mother. Had a busy day. Very tired.
