1  Lovely day. Very pretty. Quite cold and sparkly. Ernest went over for Mother. She doesn’t get far from home this winter. Feeling pretty tired this evening.

 

2  Mild again. The young fry, K., Anita, & Lorraine went to New Glasgow last night to skate and are pretty tired to-day. Mary Stewart here sewing, making Marion’s velvet dress. Got up before dinner. Not feeling anything extra.

 

3  Poured rain all day. Ernest and Clarence on the line until 2 o’clock. Feeling much better to-day and able to do a little. No Young People to-night.

 

4  Fine and little colder. Bad place at our gate. Ernest away on the telephone line again to-day.

Finer to-day and colder to-night. Ernest away all day. Finished telephone line and got central to-night. Mary Stewart here sewing last three days. Annie Lowther here all night.

 

5  Sunday. Cold but fine. Family went to church. PJ and I wrote letters and got dinner. Elmer down in evening. 2B at night.

 

6  Cloudy, looks like storm. Sawing wood. School started with Mary Stevenson as teacher.

6  Thawing by evening like smoke. Girls went with Jerrys to Mr Bishops to a surprise party for them. Blair Andrews quite badly hurt at Stanley at a horse race. Keith and Cecil went to Stanley to hockey practice.

 

7  45A. Still thawing and the fields showing up bare. Roads bad to-night. Ernest went to New Bridge to pay school coal bill. Mrs Alex Toombs very poorly. Alma McN married.

 

8  50A. Lovely day. Fields all bare. Ernest went to Stanley this afternoon for his watch that Marnie sent him. Cut Lorraines dress. Marion has a sore throat. Terrible roads now.

 

9  Colder and freezing a little all day, snowed a little.

 

10  Colder and snowed hard all day. Girls invited to the manse to tea and had YP meeting at night. Finished Lorraines dress.

11  6B. Pretty sick all day, bitter cold and blowing hard. Ernest with me most of day.

 

12  2A. Moderated a little, calmer. K Anita & Margaret went to New Glasgow for the day. Marion sick. Mrs Wyand out in afternoon and Mother down at night. Snowing a little at night.
