23  Called in at Mrs Alberts. Road getting soft.

 

24  Rained and thawed today. Marion washed. Cecil here butchering his hogs.

 

25  Lovely day. Got the wash out early and got it dry. Thawed quite a lot. Mrs Bishop and Mabel Woolner here in evening. Keith got hurt in woods. Dora Smith sick. Bob McKenzie better. Snowing at night.

 

26  Colder and blustery all day. Ernest in woods alone. Sewing at quilt patch. Got a letter from Mirna talking of her Mothers death. Marion over to Austins this afternoon.

 

27  Fine but cold. Working at quilts. Keith went to Hockey game at N Glasgow. Anita having exams. Dad & I went down to Alex’s in evening got home late.

 

28  Lovely day. Keith & Ernest in woods in AM. Dad went with Clarence on telephone line. Dora Smith quite sick. Debate at YPSociety at Freds. Miss Mathesons side won. Miss M here for weekend. Resolved that the Maritime Provinces are more essential to Canada than the rest of Canada is to the Maritimes.

1  Lovely day. Anita came home from CBI. The Lowther girls came over in evening. Tired to-night.

 

2  Cloudy and raining a little this afternoon. Miss Matheson and Marion & PJ went over to Austins in afternoon. Keith & Anita have bad cold.

 

3  Blowing hard but not very frosty. Anita in bed with a sore throat. Ernest and I went to Creek to see if we could get a place in EC’s store for Anita. Nothing doing. Hockey again at Stanley. Bible Class at Jerrys.

 

4  Fine. Keith hauling mud from Sou’West River. Washed.

 

5  Fine. Working at quilts. Practice at Geo McCoubreys. Mabel McVane came to Jerrys.

 

6  Snowed a little and rained quite hard in afternoon. Finer in evening.

 

7  Grey day. Keith at mud every day. Late getting home to-night. Prayer service in United Church by Missionary Societies. Mother down for the day. Pretty tired to-night. Marion Anita & Annie went to Geo McCoubreys for evening.

 

8  Grey day all day. Marion not very well. Keith at mud but the snow is going.
