Nelson Cousins died at Stanley

 

24  whooping cough. Ernest churned. YP at Chester Woolners. K. went to N Glasgow to skate.

 

25  Fine and milder. Keith at C Wyands and Allens in PM. Mary Stevenson here to tea and for the night. Girls have cold.

 

26  2B. Cold and blowing hard all day. Mr Darby preached in B. Church. Marion, Lorraine feeling pretty mean. Very cold night.

 

27  8B. Still bitter cold. Girls no worse but Lorraine not going to school. Allen Wyands at ice. Keith helping.

 

28  Fine day but not so cold. Had a drive in afternoon up to Bay View to see the Graham twins. Called at Jerrys. Snowing at night. Girls feeling pretty mean.

 

29  Snowing, drifting, and colder. Nothing strange or startling happening these days.

 

30  Frosty but fine. Winnie over in afternoon. Feeling pretty mean in evening. Big fire in O’Leary at night. Saw it from here.

 

31  Grey and cold, wind east. School exam this afternoon. Young Peoples at the Manse at night. Had their first News Paper.

Feb 30

 

1  Fine day, had drive in afternoon as far as Tennis. Mary Tennis pretty poorly. Keith took Lowther girls over to New Glasgow.

 

2  Snowing in afternoon. Keith went to NG for Margaret and Annie. Ernest went to Church in AM.

 

3  Lovely fine day. Drove as far as Wyands came back to school. Dr F had been here. Elmer down in evening.

 

4  14B. Fine but frosty. 26 B at Hunters River. Ernest and I went to the Manse in evening. Robbie Toombs out.

 

5  Snowing a little. Wind south part of day but north and colder to-night. Ham John McCallum and Amos Blacquiere here thrashing. Keith and Marion went over to Austins to-night.

 

6  Nothing much doing. Weather cold, but fine. No news. Storming and drifting at night. Zero all day.

 

7  Fine but cold. Young Peoples called off. Keith took Lowther girls to New Glasgow to rink.

 

8  Rough day all day. Snowing and drifting all day. Marion not feeling good. No mail.
