19  Snowing in AM. Cool all day. Chickens hatching. Ernest and Keith working in lane. Ernest down at Albert’s cleaning timothy this AM.

 

20  Fine but cold. Had 70 chicks hatch to-day. Practice at night. Busy snowing.

 

21  Fine. Dad went to Hunter River. Anna & Jerry & family went to Town. Feeling a little better lately. Letter from Lottie Simpson.

 

22  Nice fine day. Mr. Armstrong preached in afternoon. Chicks doing fine have 79. Thyra here dodging Eric.

 

23  Grey day all day. Girls washed. Jack Webster and Billy Prowse out. Alf Simpsons here to dinner. Practice at night. Went down to Welsey’s in afternoon.

 

24  Cold snow hail and rain. Sewing. Church business meeting at night. Heads have a new boy.

25  Blowing a gale from West. Girls house cleaning. Ernest working on road. Practice at night.

 

26  Fine day. Girls cleaned big room. Planted hot bed to-day. Tired to-day.

 

27  Fine day. Anita & Thyra went to Hunter River to dentist. Harrowed in afternoon. Planted lettuce and sweet peas. Practice at night.

 

28  Cloudy, poured rain in evening. Had trout for supper. Rained all night. Practice

1928 May

 

Holden McLure baby born and died in PE Island Hospital.

 

29  Raining this AM. Much warmer missionary meeting at Cecil’s. Home all day. Grass getting greener to-day. Wrote to Aunt Sadie

 

30  Lovely day. Blowing hard. Girls washed. Sewing. Practice at night.

 

May 1  Lovely morning but very warm. Started raining about 4 PM. Put on the play, had about 100 there made over $44.00. It went very well. Keith hauling fertilizer.

 

2  XYZ in bed all day. Girls tired. Keith went on his third trip to Hunter River. Anita and Anna cleaned the hall again. Ernest working on road.

 

3  Fine day, quite cold again. Got up after dinner. Play again to-night and all together with the two nights we have made over $115.00. Everybody tired but satisfied.

 

4  Very tired to-day. Marion in bed. Rather busy all day. Finished Pauline green dress. Went with Gordon Fyfe to play at Clifton. The Adventures of Grandpa. Put on by a Sea View dramatic club. Very good.

 

5  Fine day, bright. Keith harrowing. Choir practice here to-night.

 

6  Lovely fine day. Ernest at Alberts to hear radio in forenoon. Reuels came out in after
