Alvin & Bauer[?] Webb down and took Anita back with them
13 Ernest & I went with Wilbur & Gertrude etc down to Hampshire. Had a lovely day.
14 Finished grain to-day Ham and Peter here. Have an acre of barley to cut yet. Very warm. Every body tired and went to bed early.
15 80A. Very hot this AM. Marion & Waine washed. Thunder squall about 2 PM. Everybody got wet. Corn for Supper. Oh boy. Knitting a sweater for Pauline. Newt McClure raided & liquor seized.
16 Lovely day. In bed again from noon. Marion ironing and baking for Institute to-night at Wesleys. Gordon Lydie McKee and Keith out.
17 Fine but cold. Threatened rain in afternoon. School Fair. I took Lorraine & Wanda to Mayfield in AM. Marion & Getrude went in afternoon.
18 Fine but cool. Rained hard last night. Got heifers home from Chester Woolner’s back field. Sick in afternoon. Side sore. No YPS.

19 Fine. Ernest took Wanda to Emerald. Feeling rotten. Elmer Fyfe here in evening. Pauline in Hampshire over the weekend.
20 Fine but wind cool. In bed most of day. Ham here this evening. Quiet day. Baptist preaching in afternoon.

21 Very fine but cool. Ernest took in and thrashed the barley with Ham’s help.
Sept 1931
21 Mrs Neil Simpson of Vancouver called this afternoon. Marshmallow roast behind the cottage for school children. In bed all day.
22 Rained again to-day. Ernest plowing. Girls ironing. Moved up from Cottage to house. Got up for awhile this evening. Rained nearly all night.
23 Fine but ground very wet. Feeling better. Up in afternoon. Expected Alvin and Anita down but they didn’t come. Rally practice at night.
24 Cloudy in AM and raining afternoon. Ernest picked a few cranberries. Girls tired. Fevered 102.
25 Wet and blowing a gale. Early apples all down, feeling better. Keith and Reg out for awhile this evening. Lovely night but cool.
26 Lovely morning but clouding up again. Up and outdoors some to-day.
27 Rained hard most of day. No Sunday school or church. Annie Lowther over for awhile in AM. Dr Claude Simpson called in afternoon.
28 Northeast rain and wind, mean day. Girls washed and got clothes fairly dry. Ham here.

29 Worse than yesterday but cleared up in evening and we had a gorgeous sunset. District Convention of Women’s Institute at Mayfield. Ernest Lorraine and PJ went. I set the bread, wonder of wonders.
