but no damage done. Mighty bad scare. Lewis and Mrs Toombs and John here for a short time. Heber went to Town. Invitation to Keiths. Duck supper. Couldn’t go. Sorry.

 

Nov 20  Very fine. Temp 60. Splitting wood til noon than jobbing. Cora and Heber away to YPS at Manse.

 

21  Rained early, clearing at noon, very mild. Supt Smith and Charlie Murray brought the Dodge Truck back. All by my lonesome again. Cora down at Moores to Senior[?] Practice. Heber somewhere else.

 

22  Fine. Froze. Temp 24. Splitting wood AM. Men covering 14 green straw & brush. Putting in wood afternoon. Heber and I also Miss Callaghan went to Town.

 

23  Sunday fine. Keith & Anita and children came 11 AM. Children stayed and Keith & Anita went home 5:30. Reuel and Enid out, had been to Bay View to see Nannie who is not very well.

 

24  Frost all out. Roads very bad. Fine day though. Washed and Cora has ironing most done. Freezing hard and blowing a gale. Piling wood in cellar in afternoon.

 

25  Fine. Temp 22 road rough. Jack Connley came about 10:30 stayed to dinner. Mr Smith later

taking inventory of equipment. Connley here to tea. Norman Morris out. Air man from Summerside here. Heber down to Lorne McNeills to a party of some kind.

 

26  Fine. Mild. Temp 32. Men hauling straw from Walter Weeks’s. Willie Johnson & I hauling pressed hay from Kensington, 22 cwt $13.50 per ton. Frost about all out.

27  Froze hard. Temp 30. Blowing wind west. Put down square in big dining room. AM walked to Bay and back. About 100 geese but no ducks in Clarks pond. Heber, Ralph and Austin working on Hebers car over time. Cora away to YPS at Ira McCoubreys.

 

28  Split wood & piled wood in cellar.

As for me, I came home after nearly two months at Marions. Had two lovely day with Lorraine in Ottawa and had lunch at noon with Mrs Gillings. Mrs Timmins came to Montreal with me yesterday. Anita and Keith met me at Borden Station and we got home at 10 PM.

29  Snowing all day and about 4 inches of fluff down. Busy all day trying to get squared around. Heber went to Town to-night. Park work stopped for this year.

 

30  Fine day but snow had drifted around some. Heber took me up for Mother. Got stuck in Cecils Lane but got Mother home OK.
