15 Still quite cold. 10A or probably lower than that in the night. Getting Christmas parcels ready for the three girls in Norval. Up until nearly midnight every night.
16 Cloudy this morning and snowing quite thick this afternoon. Mr Smith came at 11:15 AM and what a mess we were in getting ground spruce ready for the Norval box. He brought us a few oysters.
17 Cold, bitter. 10B and zero at night. Kept three fires on. Not feeling so good, headache.
18 Zero this morning and our bathroom pipes frozen but got them thawed out and kept three fires on all day. Got more cards mailed.
19 Another terrific cold day. Kept busy trying to keep house warm. Fine Sunday 19th but drifting and very cold 6B. Washed Monday 21st but didn’t put many clothes out. Tuesday 22 still colder to 6B but moderated at night. Roads have been bad.
Butter rationed
24 Snowed some last night and helped the roads some. Dad went to Wm Grahams with Mothers Christmas basket. Got all our Xmas mail away at last.
24 A nice day, not so cold as we have had. Cards & parcels came. We have a small tree up and decorated. The Christmas music lovely.
25 A lovely day and we opened our gifts from the family. Ernest got three new books and some nice gifts that he needed. I got a book from Marion & Murray. Sugar bowl & 1 lb sugar from Anita

and a pair of gloves from the girls. Lorraine gave me a slip and perfume and snap Album. Keith a picture “Mother” and stockings. Stationary from Enid and Readers Digest from Elaine. After a nice chicken dinner we had a sleigh ride, called at Miltons Lornes and Alecs.
26 Colder to day and not so nice, drifting and snowing some. Just about all in to-day. Made some hot dish mats and some holders. Annie & Alfred Moore in for awhile to-night.
27 16A. Another chill cold day. Sunday.
28 Chill wind. Temp around 24A. We went up to see Mrs Darnley after supper.
29 Still another grey day with bitter chill east wind. Ernest went to McDonalds store. Mrs Lewis Toombs fell from a ladder and hurt herself pretty badly.
30 Moderated in evening and was raining and freezing. David Johnson here in evening. Ernest collecting for cemetery.
31 Rained some and thawed a little. Not feeling very spry. In bed until noon.
