30  Lovely day, very white. Pauline and I went down to Lornes after dinner and for Margaret Stevenson after supper. Nellie at Jerrys in afternoon.

31  S. Lovely day. Adelaide Clarke died this morning. Baptist preaching in afternoon. I had to play. Emily, Margaret Stevenson, Irving here for supper. Sing song here at night. Lewis & Mrs. Toombs and Cora here.

April 1st  Lovely day. Anita took Emily up. Washed and cleaned up back porch. Ernest & David in the woods. Party at Geo McCoubrey to-night. Long letter from Marion. Walter Meech very poorly.

 

2  Miserable dirty day, snow and rain. Funeral in the afternoon. Mr Paterson had charge. Another slam for the Baptists.

 

3  Nice fine day. Thawing some but freezing hard to-night. Wrote to Elaine, just heard that they have scarlet fever. Letters from Waine & Margaret. Dance at Prestons. Anita & Irving went.

11 little pigs arrived

 

4  Very cold and blowing hard all day. Choir practice here to-night. Anita’s glasses came.

 

5  Blowing and very cold. Ham here to supper. Ernest went to Bay View for a load of mud. YPS at Chester Woolners. Had Questionnaire.

6  arrival at Keiths of baby Ina Austena. Dad & PJ went to Hunter River to dentist. Planning to go to Carleton to-morrow.

7  Snow flurries in AM. United Church. Irving came over for dinner. Edward here in afternoon. 25 in to sing song & practice at night. Folks didn’t go to Carleton, Mother miserable.

 

8  Mother & Dad left for Carleton early this AM. David came at night to do the work. Irving here too.

 

9  New day. Dad & Lorraine came home at 1 PM. wonderful road. Play practice in Hall at night.

 

10  Thawing fast. Washed this morning. PP small lunch in to YP practice. Nellie went home in a huff.

 

11   Cleaned dining room. Ham here & Clemmie. Nellie back. Play practice at night. Hooking.

 

12  Beautiful fine weather. Hooking. YPS at Fenners. 40 there. Roads all shot.

 

13  Nothing exciting happened today except that for the first time for months the family went to bed at 8 PM. Raining.

 

14  Dull day, supposed to be Baptist Church but we waited in rain for Mr. Quigley. Roads terrible! Dad, PJ & Waine went to Fred’s to hear the Rev J.S. but didn’t. Irving up.
