21 Baptist preaching at Jerrys tonight. Ernest Anita and Pauline went.
22 16B but quite calm. Finished the quilt. Got letter from Waine, she has had bad cold. Cavendish section, United Church business social at Manse.
23 Very chill in the morning. Ernest went to Frank Andrews for oatmeal and in the evening we went to Charlie Wyands. Roads bad, so much snow. Temp up to 33 and it rained at night.
24 40A. Mild today and a great relief after the intense cold that we have had for weeks. Went over to Jerrys in afternoon and Marion stamped a mat. Knitting Margarets sweater.

25 Girls started hooking. Lorne McNeill in this AM. No news.
26 18A. Lovely day. Girls hooking. Marion & I have colds. YPS at Manse. 22 there. Letter from Margaret. All well.
27 2B. Glorious morning, clear and frosty. Marion sick with cold. CGIT in afternoon. Mabel & PJ skating
28 Milder this morning. Stayed in bed until K. and Margaret landed about 3:30. Feeling pretty mean. Jerrys and Ellice and Edward here in evening. Kids stayed here all night. Raining at 10 PM.

29 40A. 2B at night. K. went to see John F and he and Ellice went to Austins for goose dinner and left for Carleton about 2:40. Blowing a gale and getting very cold. In bed all day.
30 12B. The coldest night yet and all our plants froze. Still feeling pretty rotten and Marion none too good. 6B to-night, but not blowing. Four fires going.
31 12B. Girls hooking. Ernest went to Mayfield to get Laddie shod and get a few groceries. Starting Open Window quilt. Perfect moonlight night. Carl Woolner & Florence Laird married at New Glasgow.

Feb 1 20A. Men started ice. 31in in one place but at lower end of pond 28in thick. Heavy sawing. Wyand boys here for dinner & tea. Raining at night.
2 40A this morning and rained very hard all day. Freezing to-night and still misting with west wind. Girls finished no. 1 hooked mat. New calf.
3 Cloudy but fine. Girls washed, swept, and scrubbed and baked etc. Everybody tired at night. Ernest had lot of work draining water out of hen house. Went to Harolds for flour etc.
4 Sun. Cold east wind but fine. Preaching in afternoon. Robbie and Irene here to tea and the gang has gone to Jerrys to sing song. Wrote Aunt Lydie about Keith. May Green quite sick.
