12 boiler on and washed in the afternoon.
13 Got clothes in early and finished ironing. Rained at night, I think.
14 A perfect day quite mild. Mr Smith, his father, and two brothers came along at noon from a shooting trip and ate their lunch in the Kitchen. Alec Horne has bought an acre or more of land from Ernest Clarke and they were here getting their papers signed. Erma Tait[?] and Mrs Campion called too.
15 Turned colder and blowing hard and snow flurries all day and at night.
16 20A. Ground white. We got Jack Stewart to take us to Town. Radiator froze and we were late getting in. Went to a show “Our Vines Have Tender Grapes.” Good.
17 18A but very fine all day and moderated some in afternoon.
18 Raining this morning and frost on the window. Heber & Co came out to dinner and supper. Went back about 7 PM. Ernest has gone to church this evening.
19 Mr Smith came up to-day and told Dad that his job ended on Dec 2nd, also that he had 18 days holidays coming.
Dec 9 Haven’t felt much like writing in Diary. Dad & I had a little three day visit with Pauline from Nov 29 to Dec 3rd. Not bad weather. Willie and Vivian Toombs have another little boy

born on the 7th. Rained to-day and the frost out and a very bad road. Mrs Thomas Hiscott Sr died on the 7th and was buried from the church in Stanley in Cavendish Cemetery on a lovely day all day and freezing a little to-night.
10 Another nice day but pouring rain to-night. Mr Smith up at noon to tell us that we won’t get any more cheques from Ottawa. So it means find another home somewhere.
14 Got Paulines letter and started packing this afternoon and with the help of good neighbours got packed and away by the 18th. The Community gave us a very nice evening at George McCoubreys on the 17th and we went back to the old home for our last night there both very tired. Marion and Eric brought us to Town on the 18th, a very cold day but we brought the Christmas Cactus, the Cycleum and Aunt Mauds fern. Both very tired
