Sept 1945
28 Mrs Albert came up in the afternoon and we had Ralph Burdette take us to Rustico in evening.
29 Cloudy this AM and misty before dinner. Pouring rain by 2 PM. Letters from Nan and Marion. Not feeling very spry.
30 A cold windy day. Reuel and Enid came out for the day, their first trip out this summer. We went to Stanley to church with Mr Coffin.
Oct 1 A nice day but I couldn’t wash. We got Ralph to take us to Town at night. Wanted our wringer that Heber had taken in. Went to a show.
2 Rained and I didn’t wash after all.
3 Fine in the morning and I did a big washing. Pauline left Terry here and went to the sale at Mt Pleasant with Heber. They got home at 7:30 and Terry was a darling good little boy. Went to the 25 Anniversary supper in the Womens Institute in the Hall at night. 90 sat down at one time. Mary Stewart put on the supper.
4 Ironed and busy all day and tired at night. Two Air-men here to dinner around 1:30 PM.
5 Went on the Bus to Kensington for the day. Had dinner with Elva Henry and supper with Mrs Hammond Toombs and Mabel.

17th Russel McNeill papered the Kitchen
7 to a World Communion Thanksgiving Service. When we got home, Pauline had dinner ready for us. A lovely day and a lot of people here.
8 Rained all day and rather dreary.
9 Fine and Grant here for dinner. Not much happened this week.
10 Mr Stirling Ian & Mary, Doris and Allen here in afternoon for a while. So good that Ian got home safe and sound. Aunt Emily MacNeill died in PE Island Hospital. She had been there for a long time.

11 Some very nice days and people getting potatoes out. The ground pretty damp.
12 Grant taken to the Hospital in ambulance this morning. He is very sick. Mr Smith up for dinner.
13 Dull day and rained in afternoon and night. Ralph drove us to Town. Got a blanket for Una who is to be married next week. Terry pretty sweet to-night. Letters from girls and a cake from Anita & bulbs for Dad.
14 S. A miserable day and only two cars in. Mr Coffin preached in Wiltshire & Hunter River.
15 Fine in forenoon but showery. Washed.
16 Rained part of day. Not cold. Shower at Miltons for Una. Ralph took us down. A very nice evening and Una received very nice gifts.
