not so good to-day. Drifting and got down to zero.
14 4 below this morning and 30A to-night. Has snowed some and drifted all day. Made doughnuts. Mr Tillie called.
15 4A to-night, a miserable cold day, drifting and snow squalls. Finished cleaning the pantry. Ernest went to Mayfield for tea. Mother not very good all day.
16 0. Zero to-night and blowing a gale from N. West. Keeping fires on late. Anna in to see Mother this afternoon. Letter from Pauline.
17 8B and bitter cold all day until evening went up to 15A. Winston Churchill arrived in England this AM. Mother stronger again this afternoon.
18 S. Fine day. Ernest went to church in morning. Ernest got Annie down for afternoon and we went down to see May and Mrs Albert. Ben Graham has had a stroke.
19 Didn’t feel extra good. Fine day and milder at night.
20 Poured rain all day. Colder to-night.
21 Fine day and we washed. Mother very weak all day. No news. Willie Robinson quite sick.
22 10A this morning. A lovely day, not blowing hard. Same old thing. Ironed. Dad went to Rustico.
23 Not so cold to-day. Snowed some this afternoon and the planes were going in circles. Got a letter from Len Whitaker saying Maurice Bird is missing.

24 Mild to-day with snow flurries in the afternoon. No one here all the week and Mother gets pretty lonesome.
25 S. A fine day but very cold and drifting. 8A in the morning and got down to 6A at night.
26 4A this morning. Not blowing and a nice winter day. Mother not so good to-day. Washed in AM. Not much doing this winter.
27 Cold grey day all day. Ironed. Letters from Nan & Marion & Mr Sherwin.
28 A lovely day all day but a chill wind to-night. Winnie over this afternoon. Mother only fair to-day.
31st Anita came home from Keiths, pretty cold day.
Feb 1st Cold day blowing a gale, south east wind. No one went to church from here.
2 A nice day. Dad went to Emerald for Larry Brierley but he wasn’t there.
3 Snowing some and cold. Dad started for Hunter River but turned back. I came down stairs head first and on my back. Might have broken my neck. Pretty sore. Dad & Anita washed but didn’t put all the clothes out.
4 Dad & Earl working at ice. Almost zero weather for several days.
5 Fine and cold. Mother not very well all week.
6 Finished ice 27 loads of grand ice.
7 Not so cold to-day. Dad went to store and into Johnstons
