Oct 26 Sunday. Ground white. Thick snow flurries clearing at noon snow all gone at night. Colder. Heber took airman to Town. Pauline and I went to United Church to hear Rev John Stirling. Good crowd out.
27 Fine. Washed, went to Town to see Dr. Lantz, after examination he sent me to Hospital for X-ray for sinus trouble. Nose very uncomfortable tonight. Pauline and Heber up to Hall to play “Dora Deene”.
28 Fine AM rain after noon quite heavy at night. Men working at moving culvert at entrance drive.
29 Fine. Colder. Pauline and I went to Keiths in afternoon picking chickens. Things not going too well down there. Everyone very tired or something. Dance at Clarence Stewarts for Charlie.
30 Froze hard last night fine today. Water system all drained. Changed radio aerial. Mr Smith and his father here. Pauline away to YPS at Lewis Toombs. Heber away to Town. Note from Belle, Lizzie getting weaker all the time.
31 Rain AM. No work done. Clearing noon. Cold wind. Heber and Pauline went to Town with truck. Also Milton Green, brought out some coal
roll of barb wire caseing for well etc. etc. Mrs Russell McNeill taken to Falconwood got much worse lately. Reception for Lowell and Bride. Heber & Pauline went.
Nov 1 Fine. Wire men putting power line to pump house. Men laid off except Ralph and Austin. I was taking off shutters and getting storm windows on. Nothing new to report. Charlie here for the night.
2 Rain and wind south east. Very quiet day. Charlie here for dinner left for Town 2 o’clock. Leaving for Montreal Tuesday 4th.
3 Fine. Washed. Men finished power line to pump house. Mr Smith here for dinner. Fenner Stewart plowing by moon light, 8:30 PM.
4 Just a grand day warm as summer finished storm windows etc. men hauling lumber.
5 Another splendid day. Walked to head of Bay, hundreds of ducks and geese in pond. Got 9 bushels potatoes from Ern McNeill. Pauline and I went to Rustico. Called at Alex’s on way home.
6 Light frost and fog AM clearing later. Howard Houston here getting ready to connect power for light. Staying all night. Pauline and Heber away to YPS at Manse. Maybe a dance at Blair Andrews.
