Ernests time with surveyors

 

6  Ernest are working on the line clearing up for surveyors. YPS at Jerrys. Orange Supper in Hall. Letter from Marion. She will likely be at home in Norval to-night.

 

7  Not a bad day. Ernest with surveyors. Stewart Wright came out for Arthur and Lorraine. Cloudy in afternoon but did not rain.

8  S. Just a perfect day, warm and clear. Ernest & I walked to shore in the morning and it was just perfect down there. The shore has sanded up again and is much nicer now than it has been all summer. Church at night. Reuels here in afternoon for a little while. Went to church with Lornes.

 

9  A cloudy day but did not rain. Didn’t wash. PJ and I went away to back of farm in afternoon. Surveyors here again to-day. Dad & I went up to Jim Stewarts this evening.

10  Nice day. Washed etc. Andrew Mac & Amos Blacquire here in woods. Directors meeting in Hall to-night. Rained hard at night.

Tillie Bentley age 71

 

11  Blowing hard this morning and cold. In bed until noon. Surveyors are working East. Got word that Tillie McNeill had died in PEIsland Hospital. Ernest at Jas. O’s to-night.

12  Not a bad day. Didn’t do much but fed men and knit. Mary McLean quite sick. Not so bad as reported.

13  Nice morning but turned cold. Surveyors got as far as Gordon Lairds. YPS at Rustico had a send off for Charlie Pink at Ben Woolners. Janette Clarke here for weekend.

 

14  Perfectly lovely morning. Froze. Clouded up and turned chill. Ernest McNeills took Jerry & Anna and myself to Kensington to Tillie Bentleys funeral.

 

15  Lovely warm day but rained before church and heavy thunder showers in afternoon. Quiet day.

 

16  Nice morning but as usual lately turned very cold before night. I took Janette Clark to her school. Dad with the surveyors. Got as far as Gillis’ pond. Will finish to the Harbor tomorrow. PJ washed. Amos here at noon.

 

17  Lovely morning, froze and clear. Ernests last day with surveyors. Storming at night and ground white at bed time.

 

18  20A. Storming like midwinter and getting colder all day. 8 above at dark. Knitting.

 

19  14A. Not quite so cold but stormed most of day. Pierce McNeill died in forenoon. Bobbie came through this
