Sept 36

 

23  on Cavendish as site of National Park. Committee meeting here tonight. Reuel & Carl Belver[?] here for dinner. Mrs Albert for supper.

 

24  Another lovely warm day. Not very busy, did up some plum jam. Ernest & I over to Ern McNeill’s to-night.

 

25  Rained most of day. Aunt Sadie had a letter from Vern with very bad news in it of a car accident he has been in. Ernest went to town for the day getting information about the Park and to a meeting at which Hon Mr. Dunning was speaking. YPS at Manse. Emily Stewart here for week end.

 

26  Nice day but wind cool. Arthur & Pauline came up from Carleton also Annie Lowther. Dad fencing. Anita & Emily away visiting at Bay View.

 

27  S. Nice day but raining to night. Rather busy. Rally Service in morning. Baptist Church in afternoon and special service in Rustico to-night. Dorothy Toombs here for day. Aunt Sadie went up with Mother for day. Annie & Lowell have the kitchen tonight. Rained at night.

 

28  Cloudy early but cleared up and blew hard. Washed and ironed. Committee meeting at Chester Woolners.

Sept & Oct 36

 

29  40A. Bitter cold day, thermometer around 44 all day. Picked beans and tomatoes and a few cranberries in afternoon. Mr Wright came up for Anita to-night.

 

30  40. Still cold, around 40 all day and a stuff breeze. Had a party of four for supper. Mrs Harry Douse[?] her for cranberries. Not a big crop.

 

Oct 1  26A. Everything white this morning with frost. Rained in afternoon and quite hard at night

 

2  Lovely day and not so cold. Made jelly and chow. Alex & May up this evening.

 

3  Pretty nice day, but we had frost this morning. Ernest finished cranberries. Girls planned to go to Town but the bus didn’t go. Ernest and I went to Creek for wall paper.

 

4  S. Nice day but wind cold. Aunt Sadie went with Cecils to Keiths. Church at night. Quiet day.

 

5  Cloudy and damp in morning but fine in afternoon. Finished potatoes. Only fair crop. Everyone tired to-night.

 

6  Nice day. Washed. Had car load of sight seekers in afternoon. Started papering spare bed room. WCTU meeting at night at Manse.

 

7  Nice warm day. Ernest ploughing in forenoon and helped Pauline finish papering spare room. Pouring rain at night.
