Very cold summer. Only twice that temp has been to 80.

 

1  Perfectly lovely day – and a busy one. Mr. Higgs Dr. Steele and ladies here for supper. Ontario couples left. Reg McNeill here for the night.

 

2  Lovely day and lots of company. Only six boarders. Ottawa man here taking motion pictures. Gertrude & Wilbur here in evening.

Quite busy in Aug. Mr & Mrs Gillings, Mr & Mrs Manning, Miss Budd & Miss Hutchins here. Mr Manning took us down to Keiths one Monday evening and took Ernest & Lorraine up West to see the gang there. Aunt Sadie and Vern home. Perley, Daisy, and Vernon here one Sunday and took Mother to O’Leary with them on a Monday. She was away nearly two weeks. Sadie Johnston McLure has a young son on Aug 16th w eight 10 lbs. Bernice Ferguson McLeod has a son too. They are living on the Canada Simpson place. Mr. Hayden was here for a week. Miss Carson and the Gooch family here at same time. Ruth Raynor came for a weekend. Mr & Mrs Carse came along for the last week of Aug. Jimmy here for four weeks Mr. Hefferman and Miss Gerard here for five days. Enough.

 

31  Mr. Hayden & Peter left this AM. Went to shore

with Mrs. Carse. Very warm sultry day. Waine at school all afternoon. Annie here washing.

 

Sept 1  Lorraines first day at school and she’s very tired to start with. Busy ironing etc. Play crowd had a little time for Jean Clark at Freds. Blowing and dry.

 

2  Lovely day. Ernest busy at harvest. The rest busy preparing for a big day tomorrow.

3  Lovely morning but started to rain about 2:30. Nevertheless we fed 60 people to afternoon tea at 4 PM. The Ladies of the Good Roads Convention.

4  Lovely morning but a Nor East gale to-night. Everyone weary. Rained hard this afternoon. Girls at YPS at Church.

 

5  The Carse family left this AM and Wanda Dennis came on the Bus. Dr. John T. McNeill, Aunt Emily and Jessie Stewart here for tea. Dad & I went in to Lems.

 

6  Lovely day. Alvin Rupert, Dorothy Isobel and Reuels all here for the day. Went to Carleton in afternoon and to Town at night.

 

7  Rained all day or most of it. Went to show at night San Francisco and were nearly squashed. The O’Leary bunch here all day.

8  Damp. Went up to Town in afternoon and to
