Sept 1932 & Oct

 

29  tired. Marion sewing and I was quilting.

 

30  Fine but cooler. Finished quilting the Institute quilt. YPS here all night. Mr Oulton[?] from the Fillmore Nurseries here all night.

 

Oct 1st  Fine and cooler. Ernest at Hams finished his potatoes. Lorraine came home at night. Keith at Church all day. Sewing all day.

 

2  Lovely day. B. Church at night. Eric & Elmer took Keith & Annie and Marion to Tryon for Margaret and to Borden. I took Lorraine down to Roys. PJ went with me.

 

3  Lovely day. Girls washed and picked cranberries. Small crop. Ernest & I went to Rustico, called at Oliver Bernards. Had a nice drive. Lovely warm day.

 

4  Girls (Marion & Anita) went to Hunter River to dentist and to Bradalbane to meet Aunt Maud. Took in the Sunday School convention at night at New Glasgow.

 

5  Still very warm 74A at noon. Was to shore for awhile in afternoon. Keith plowing.

 

6  74A. Lovely day, feeling rather mean all day. Marion sewing. Bible Class at Jerrys. Girls went. Ham a daily event.

 

7  76A. Very warm. Keith finished ploughing back field. I went to see Mrs John F in afternoon.

7  YPS at Rustico. Raining this evening.

 

8  Rainy and much cooler. Lorraine here again to-night for Thanksgiving. Girls cut Marions dress. Lovely night but feels like frost.

 

9  Lovely bright day. Alvin and Ella came down and Ernest & Marion went back with them. U. Church at night.

 

10  Lovely day. Anita & Waine washed. Shampoo frolic after dinner. Ernest & Marion had a big day and got home about 8 PM. Chicken supper at Jerrys. Pickards barns burned near Town.

 

11  Cloudy and raining. Maud came about 8:15. Quite foggy to-night. Made Hams preserve.

 

12  Much colder. Fred and Hester down in evening. Had mean headache all day.

 

13  Quite cold and blowing hard. Flowers still blooming, no frost yet but feels like it to-night. Mother & Mrs Darnley here to-night.

 

14  Blowing hard and quite cold. Maud & I went to shore and M. took some pictures of the waves. Had a quiet evening. Marion sick. YPS at Mrs Paynters, over fifty there.

15  28A. Lovely day. Had our first frost here. Picked some lovely flowers to-night. Dahlias bloom
