Sept 32

 

15  Another lovely day. Everybody tired out. Cleaned the cottage up and Dad and I spent the night here. There was a cricket.

 

16  More or less wrecks. Washed wool. Very warm looks like rain to-night. Ernest picking beans this afternoon. YPS at Rustico Church to-night.

 

17  Blew a terrible gale. Good many stacks barn roofs and trees blew down. Chester Woolner kitchen flue fell and gave everybody a bad scare.

Lorraine & Wanda came home

 

18  Lovely day. Alvin came down about 10 AM. YPS held Rally Services in Stanley & Rustico. Baptist Church in afternoon.

 

19  Nice day. Took the girls down to Roys in the morning, made some calls and went to Harolds. Alvin had car trouble didn’t get home til night.

 

20  Cold grey morning, north east wind. Had planned a big day but the weather planned differently. Ellice was over for supper and five went to Davis Moffats afterwards to see Maggie Nettie. Came back and had ice cream. Marion in bed.

27th Anniversary

 

21  Lovely day, quite warm. Ernest and Austin away all day and until after eleven. Very dense fog at night. Institute

21  at Wesleys at night and I went for the first time in nearly two years.

 

22  Fine in afternoon. Ernest picking beans. Keith at church. Anita at Austins. School closed for fall vacation.

 

23  Poured rain by spell all day. Thrashing. Central School Fair. Pauline went with Margaret. YPS at church. We are still sleeping in Cottage and and have cats with us to-night. Poured rain for hours.

 

24  Fine to-day. Thrashing in AM and picking beans in afternoon. Everybody tired.

 

25  Lovely fine day but wind cool. Rally Service in Cavendish at night. Good service. Had quiet day, no company.

 

26  Girls washed and ironed and Dad & I got our room upstairs straightened out.

 

27  Fine day. Ernest & Ham helping Fenner with his harvest. Institute Quilting party. Hester, Anna, Lucy, Miss McVane, Miss Woolner here. Also Mr & Mrs Art Henry.

 

28  Started potatoes but it rained and we didn’t pick any after dinner. Anna Ellice & May Green here to-day.

 

29  Lovely fine day. Anita at potatoes to-day. Everybody
