October-November 1928

Oct 22  came for me. They and mother here for awhile.

 

23  Washed. (Dad & Marion) Ironed in afternoon. Went to Jim Stewarts to Institute.

 

24  I went to Wyands again. Poured rain all day. George McCoubrey and Hazel Profit married.

 

25  Fine. Cherivari at night at McCoubrey’s. Dad and small folks went.

 

26  Busy all day. Went over to see Anna. She is very sick.

 

27  Scrubbing and cleaning. Baked the first of our new flour. Alex & May up in evening. Gordon Fyfe down and Avalah here.

 

28  Fine morning. Elmer Lizzie, Isobel Ramsey and Lillian McIsaac here for day. Rally Service at night.

 

29  Lovely morning but raining to-night. At Jerrys all day. Anna went to hospital. Marion at Wyands decorating for Emma’s wedding. Tired to-night.

 

30  Marion at Wyands. Dad and I washed.

 

31  Emma Wyand and Fred Moyse married. Marion played Wedding March.

again. Allen, Mrs W & Blanche out in evening.

 

2  Down on couch in Kitchen. Elmer Fyfe came down in evening. Big time at George McCoubreys for the bride.

 

3  Busy all day. The men working at turnips. Anita got home with Eric McNeills.

 

4  Dark day. Rained morning & evening. Keith didn’t get home from N Glasgow

 

5  until 9 next day, finished turnips. Bernard and I went down to Oliver Bernards and I stayed at Alberts for evening. Dad came down for me. Very cold.

 

6  Very mild to-day and pouring rain to-night. Marion washed. Busy all day. Tired.

 

7  Fine and colder. Verna Bernard & Frank Townsend married. Marion played the wedding march. Busy all day. Keith banking house. Blowing hard
