May 1928
23 Cloudy and cool. Planting potatoes. Got up at noon. The Brintons and Mother got home to night. Dad went to Alberts.
24 Cold east wind. I spent the day with Mother and Elaine. Reuel and Enid and babies were there. Mother came down in evening. Tired.
25 Talk about rain! Well it has been a glorious downpour to-day and is warmer this evening. Ernest & I went over to Jerrys for little while.
26 Lovely warm day. The Brintons down for dinner and supper. Anna here for supper. Had a drive to New Glasgow.
27 Rained all day nearly. The Brintons went to Tryon and Marion with them. Headache all day. Thrya here. Thunder at night.
28 Still cloudy and poured rain in afternoon. Thunder & lightning. Ernest went to Town with Alex to see Albert. Keith and Anita went for clams.
Waine’s birthday
29 Fine and very warm. Cleaned the dining room. Set out birch trees and strawberry plants. Tired.
30 Feeling mean all day. Wyands came at night to practice some hymns for Sunday. Ernest
May 1928 & June
30 went to Hunter River with little pigs.
31 In the garden all day. Set out sixty dahlia bulbs and planted vegetables.
June 1st Lovely day. Planted dahlias for Mrs Bonnell. Went with Alex’s down to Rustico Bank.
2 Lovely morning but rained very hard in afternoon. Keith at Wilburs spreading fertilizer. Practice at night for play. Mother came down for night and day.
3 Sunday. Just a perfect day all day. Had a big rest. Preaching at night in B. church.
4 Ernest & Keith killed little porker. Kiddies & I went to Creek. Play at night Barbara Makes a Splash. Lower Bedeque crowd. Extra good. Keith working at fertilizer.
5 Did a big big washing and worked in garden. Practice at night. Midnight when we got home. Tired?
6 Very busy. Ernest at Alberts helping Lorne with spuds. Institute at night at Jerry’s.
Marions birthday
7 Lovely morning, rained a little in afternoon, but we all went to Rustico Bank with “Among The Breakers” play. Came home with $29.30c. Got home at 1:30 AM. Had lunch at Jas L.
