21 Miserable day poured rain in forenoon and so cold. Ernest churned. Cleaned a few cranberries. K. ploughing.
22 Lovely fine day all day. Busy. Harrowed potato land in AM. K. at Austins in afternoon. Jack Webster & wife Mrs Gordon Hughes, Mrs J[?] Bayer and Mr EC Allan of Halifax here to tea. Mr Allen spoke to the YPPG at Rustico.
23 Another fine day all day. Nan stayed down with Evelyn last night. Ernest went to H. River with blue spuds 55 cents per bushel. Marion & small girls at JF’s to tea.
24 Lovely fine day. Went for walk back to old Baptist church grounds. K. went to New Glasgow with Marion to Jerry. Dad over to J. in evening.
25 Terrible day, poured rain all day. Very warm south east. Sewing. Ernest picking over potatoes.
26 Lovely fine day but blowing a gale. Ernest helping McCoubreys at the Manse. Keith ploughing. Sewing. XYZ
27 Lovely fine day. Washed. Ernest at McCoubrey’s part of day. Marion & Gertrude collecting for orphanage. Dad & I went to Creek. Mary Stewart got 2lbs butter, Cecil 3/4 lb.
28 Miserable cold rain all of afternoon and night. Maria Matheson here helping with some sewing.
29 Lovely fine day. Maria finished M’s dress. Halloween party at Fenners. Anna Hester & I went as ghosts & witch. Got home at 12 AM.

29 Austin McNeill hanged himself this morning. Terrible tragedy.
30 Perfect day again Ernest working at McCoubrey’s, Marion and Gertrude went to O’Leary. Thrya & Helen LePage here to tea also Arthur Woolner.
31 Sunday. Poured rain all day. Austin McNeill’s funeral in afternoon. Headache. Mrs Allen Wyand and Blanche here to tea. Anita & K. went to BV to hear radio.
November 1 Fine day. Ernest at McCoubreys. Not doing much. Headache. Wm Webb died.
2 Fine but cold. Hard frost this AM. Washed. Baked cookies. Tired. Mothers got word from Elaine, little Isobel has been in hospital for operation.
3 Fine but cool. Ernest went to Emerald with blue potatoe, 65 c bus. Shower for Hattie Wyand at night at Allens. Shipped barrel to Maud.
4 Miserable cold rain. Dolly (mare sick) & Lettie McKenzie sick.
5 Fine all day. Froze this morning and a snow storm to-night. Ernest & I down to Alberts to-night. Lettie quite sick. Dr. there for the night. Finished getting in cabbage, parsnips to-day.
6 Fine, ground white this AM but all gone to-night. Butchered 5 hogs. Got Daubin shod. Busy all day, made potted meat. Choir practiced here to-night.
