Oct 3rd Sunday. Enid & Reuel out and they & Mother & Cecil came down in afternoon. Tired to-day. Church at night. Mr Harding, Margaret Johnson sang “Crossing the Bar.”
4 Marion & Nan picking cranberries all day. Jennie McK. & Roy Stevenson came up in afternoon and I went down with them. Berries very thick. Keith at Hams at spuds.
5 Washed in AM. Keith & Dad at Hams in AM. Started potatoes here in afternoon. I went again for cranberries.
6 Digging potatoes. Marion & Mother went for cranberries. Arthur Woolner & Gertrude Clarke here for little while.
7 Poured rain in morning. Everyone came home from field soaking wet. Practice at night for Rally Day. Thrashed some.
8 Picking spuds until afternoon, more rain. Dad & I went to Creek Group at night.
9 Still wet. Saturday work. Practice in afternoon. Sewing.
10 Still showery. Went up to Mother’s this afternoon. Got home at 10:30 PM. Heard sermon preached in Albany N.Y.
11 Lovely morning but clouded over cold at noon. Marion & Waine picking cranberries. Sent Eaton order.
11 Lorne up in evening for a while.
12 Cool and showery. Picking spuds at Cecils. Washed. Ironed and sewing. Cecil & Arthur here in evening.
13 Lovely fine day. Keith at Alberts picks spuds. Ernest at Austins all day. Marion Nan Hester Jim Stewarts & myself at cranberries. Missionary meeting at Ceds.
14 Red sunrise and raining by nine oclock. Sewing.
15 Fine and quite warm to-day. Very heavy thunderstorm in evening. The church spire at Malpeque Presbyterian church was struck, a chapel at St. Peters burnt and a barn at Abrams Village. Put up room stove and very busy all day. Blew gale all night.
16 Blowing hard this AM. Ernest & Cecil went to Town. Eaton order came. Sewing & mending.
17 Lovely warm day. Rally service at night. Very good. Pouring rain. Mont here. Nan at Wilburs all day. Gertrude here for dinner & Marjorie for supper.
18 Raining in AM and gray all day. Cleared up in evening and cold. School started again. Dad & I went to Darnleys in evening.
19 Cold as greenland. Pulled mangles. Washed. Girls & K. went to Freds. Avalah here to-night. Peter Murray brought a new Polly Kitten.

20 Keith at Freds picking spuds. Washed quilts. Anna & I went to Missionary Meeting at Wesleys. Institute at night. On Church committee meeting at Fenners. Finished cranberries.
