Sept 11th  A beautiful day scrubbing this AM. baking this afternoon pies, cake & ginger snaps, also made a bottled plum jam. Nan is a brick. Down to a meeting at Roy Toombs to-night!!

Miss Moore went back

 

12th  S.S. this morning. Anita & Cecil to Rustico. Nannie & C. here most of the day. Church this afternoon,  Arthur here, also Mont, Keith, Anita & Margaret to Stanley. Tired.

First ripe tomatoes

 

13th  A wretched day for the School Fair which was very well attended considering the day. Exhibits good, fewer than last year. Nan did well. Feeling sick. Lorraine has bad cold.

 

14th  Dad in Mayfield at the Poll all day. Keith ploughing. Not doing much. Nan home. A fine cold day. Mailed Miss E’s things, wrote to Maud & Mother. Letter from M. from Norval, Anna Mrs Blackmire, & Margaret over, Gertrude here about Rally Service. Robbie & Arthur in. Yes and so are the Liberals! King is going right back to where he’s supposed to be. SMW!!

Richard Stevenson died this evening

Sept 15th  A beautiful day spent in bed. Nan home, feel better to-night. Men hauling grain from shore field. Institute at Rustico.

 

16th  Dark showery day. Roy and I over to see Margaret about singing at his father’s funeral this afternoon a tremendous crowd there considering the day. Olaf home. Albert up this evening. YPPG and debate to-night. “Country life vs City.” Country won in points, City had best arguments. Nan & I walked home.

Cards from Mother. Annie here all day washed scuffed swept.

 

17th  Finished ironing, started Indian relish. Nan made a cake. Letters from Mother. Supper was 15 min late! Took flowers to JF’s. Practice to-night. George & Art in.

 

18th  A wonderful day. Dad finished cutting. Busy, made ginger snaps, bread, & relish. Dora up. Fenner cutting with new tractor. Tired to-night.

 

19  Another beautiful warm day. SS in AM. Went to church in afternoon with flowers, [?]
