Two children Rosie McDougall and Aleere Gaudin drowned in Alberton while skating home
8 Sunday. A perfect morning but clouded up and got quite dark in the afternoon. Keith, Lorraine, PJ, and myself went back to the woods for a tramp. Saw a very funny track. Wind N.E. to-night.
9 Snowed a little last night and this morning the woods was a wonderful sight. Albert, Anna and Mrs Bob here this afternoon and made the arch. Tennis & wife here this evening.
10 Quite cold this am. Keith & Dad hauling manure all day. Mrs Eustis here. Baking. Tired.
11 Poured rain in forenoon and about 5oclock. Cleared up at sundown. The community gave Mr & Mrs. John F McNeil a surprise party on their Golden Wedding day. They presented them with a pretty good program and two very comfortable armchairs. Pretty tired to-night.
12 The morning after the night before, pretty tired all day. We went up to see Mother this evening. There was 68 guests at the wedding and over twenty serenaders.
13 Snowed some in afternoon. Dad at Cecil’s sawing wood. Y.P.P.G. met here to-night about 40.
14 Snowing in afternoon. Quite a storm by night.

14 Pauline’s birthday, feeling pretty mean.
15 Sunday. Colder and quite wintery this morning. Mr. Stirling preached in the Presbyterian Church this afternoon. Dad, Nan, & myself went. Cold to-night. Keith and Anita, Montague & Blanche went up to Bay View to listen in on radio. XYZ
16 Quite cold today. Ernest went to Hunter River in forenoon. Hauling manure all day. Everybody taking advantage of the bit of snow. We went down to Alberts this evening. Wind S.E. and bitter cold.
17 Keith at Austin’s. Dad hauling lumber to mill, four trips. Went to Fred’s at night bleak south east wind.
18 S.E. Dark day, thawed like smoke. Ernest cut hole between two big rooms. Went to Institute at Milton McKenzie’s at night. Annual meeting, Mrs Ben Woolner new Pres. Mrs Leigh Warren, Mrs Webb Vice Pres. Took a carriage, a lot of bare road. Foggy all afternoon.
19 Thawing all day and a pouring rainstorm to-night. Keith at Austin’s. Dad churned. Sewing.
20 Dark but did not rain, very mild. Keith at John F’s in afternoon. Dad at Ham’s Y.P.P.G. meeting at Bob McKenzie’s. Finished Nan’s dress. Radio extra good, heard When You & I Were Young over ‘phone.
