Mary Burke died suddenly at St. Vincent Academy Halifax. Only child of OF Burke
30 Nice day, not cold. Ernest finished hauling out wood and sawed in afternoon. Letters from Elaine and Anita.
Dec 1 S. Lovely day all day. Arthur came up about 1.30. United Church to-night. Mrs Paterson sick.
2 Another lovely day tho’ colder. Ground froze. Finished wood sawing and Ernest went on road with Clarence Stewart working at telephone. Charlie Pink here this evening.
3 North east wind and snow flurries in afternoon. Girls washed. Chicken dinner. Ellice over in afternoon. Len Coles took washing machine to Town.
4 20A. Lovely day. Dad and Pauline went to Hunter River. Joe Weatherbie here at night. Wyands entertaining New Glasgow YPS. Girls went. Snowing at night.

6 Mary & PJ went to woods for ground spruce. Nothing much doing. Cold and blowing all day. YPS at Manse. CGIT girls served lunch. Letter from Marion.

9 at night. Dad shingling or patching barn roof.
10 Rained most of day. Dad at Austins killing chickens. Not cold but a chill day. Choir practice here at night.
11 Nice morning but snow flurries in afternoon. Dad took cow down to Alex McNeills in AM and in afternoon took the clock to the Creek to get it fixed and I stayed with May. Had my first sleigh drive but not much snow. Cars still running but road bad.

13 Nans 24th birthday. Dark day with mist and snow. No frost. Knitting & crocheting. Girls went for more running[?] spruce. Cleaned up Dining room. New boy at Rupert Simpson in Prince Country Hos
14 32A. Not blowing quite as hard. Thrashing a little in AM. Spent the afternoon at Gertrudes & evening at Freds. Lovely evening, very mild.
15 S. 36A. Perfect day. All walked to United Church. Sing song here at night. Mostly boys.
16 Snowed some. Dark day. Didn’t wash. Busy at Xmas things.
