Girls washed and scrubbed etc &. Parcel from Marion & 29 cards. Annie & Edward over. Keith and Margaret arrived at 9.15 and were we glad to see them.
25 All kids again on Christmas morning. Santa very good as per usual. Aunt Mauds books on the way. The Lowther family here in evening. K & M at Austin’s for dinner and here for supper. Irving Green here in evening. Nannie not able to come down. Ernest sick.

26 Lovely morning for Keith and Margaret to go home. Put in a quilt in afternoon. Sounds rough out tonight. Ernest better. Put Marions Dresden plate quilt in frames.

27 Not very cold in AM but stormed very bad before night and got colder. Terrific gales along New England coast and a great deal of damage done. Quilting all day.

28 Still drifting but finer. Bobbie came with mail. Finished quilt. Group at Austins. Anita & PJ went.
29 4A. Grey day. Ernest went to mill in morning and to Mayfield in afternoon. Got Dolly shod. Lewis & Mrs. Toombs here in the evening. Snowing a little and milder.

30 Sunday. Not very frosty but a north east snow storm and kept at it all day. Everyone reading or sleeping.

31 Breaking roads and for the first time Hams fields are opened. Ham here. Bobbie had a bad road, got as far as Jim Stewart’s and George Clarke went up for mail. Letter from Marion etc.

1 Lovely morning not cold. Girls washed. I went over to see Winnie in the afternoon. Arthur and John Myers came along about 3 PM and they had tea at Austins.
2 Mild in morning, turned bitter cold at night. Very mild in afternoon. Ernest went in to Harolds, regular blizzard and roads very bad.
3 4A. Fine and blowing a gale and very frosty. Dad took Lorraine up to Bay View to teach for Emily.

4 10B. Blustery and bitter cold and drifting all day. Coldest night this winter. Lorraine at Bay View school again. YPS at Manse. Girls didn’t go, letters from Marion and Myron & Elaine.
5 16B. Bitter cold morning and blowing a gale. Arthur and John getting pretty impatient about the weather. Dad went to Mayfield in afternoon. Moderated at night. Kenneth Stewart brought Emily up, she was pretty cold.
6 Milder this morning no frost. Boys left for home about 10 AM. In bed with headache all day. Baptist preaching at Jerry’s. Eric Bell down this evening.
7 Rained nearly all day and foggy. Thawed a lot. In bed till evening.
