8 24A. Snowing this morning and turned soft and stopped drift. Got up to 30A but is not as warm to-night.
9 28A. Cloudy and some snow fell. Washed in AM. Mr & Mrs Coffin in this evening.
10 Fine day. Cold. Rev Major MacIntosh buried in Cavendish cemetery.
11 Around zero 4 B.
12 Chill 10 above in afternoon. Dad went Rustico to Harry McKenzies for his leather jacket that she ruined. He has quite a bad cough. Storming to-night. No school, children have colds.
13 Road heavy, quite a lot of snow down, temp around 30A.
14 Chill wind, east and NE. Temp 24A but cold. We didn’t get out to church, didn’t know it was this morning and both have colds.
15th to 21st Cloudy practically all the week. Felt rotten on Monday and in bed until Saturday afternoon. Had rain and snow and rain, roads rather bad. Quite a bit of wind. Temp up to 44 Monday and varied to as low as 5 above on the 21st. Ernest chief cook and bottle washer. Jean Jones in Hospital and a Ceaserian operation,
19th gave them a 4lb baby girl, their first. Jean has been so miserable all summer. Up on the
Baby died
21st and able to get the meals and write some letters.

22 A lovely morning and I should have washed but didn’t feel able for it. Ernest went to Rustico. Got word from Pauline that Jeans baby only lived a few hours.
23 Snowing very thick, great big flakes, must have been seven or eight inches fell to-day. Very calm.
24 A fine day but getting colder. Roads very heavy. Hester down this afternoon.
25 A grey day and quite cold all day. Its 6 above zero to-night. Has snowed some to-day.
26 4B. A very wintry day, drifting and bitter cold all day. Dad went up for milk around 4 o’clock. Wrote to Pat Lindsay and Stuart Macdonald.

27 24 above this morning and up to 30 in afternoon. A very pleasant surprise after the cold snap yesterday. Cleaned half the Kitchen.
28 S. A lovely day but roads pretty heavy. Mr & Mrs Coffin here to supper. Church to-night. Bad road to New Glasgow. Temp still 30 above.

30 28A. Cloudy and snowing. No sign of a track anywhere this morning. Bad road for Mr Coffin to go to the funeral. Colder to-night.
