Planted a few early potatoes in garden.

 

10  Fine in morning but rained in evening. Keith came up with team for his sow, boards etc. Cemetery meeting at night in church. Are we tired?

 

11  Cold this morning. A little better to-night. Keith took his load home and we had Ham for dinner. Play at Grahams Road to night $11.90.

 

12  Bitter cold wind all day. Mrs Bishop came to Cavendish for weekend. Saw her at John F’s this evening. YPS at church. Everybody tired.

 

13  Got up at 4:30 went to Emerald and Carleton. Very heavy frost in morning. Ice at Andersons and Morriss bridge. Thunder storm at night. Mrs Bishop here to dinner. Lorraine & Dorothy Toombs came home with Mr Webster

Heavy hail.

 

14  Reuels out for first time. Took the girls L & D back to Town. Aunt Sadie came to Keiths before dinner and Cecils and Annie after. Very tired at night.

 

15  Aunt Sadie started back to Vernie. Keith and I drove her to Carleton Siding. Ray met her there. All in the rest of the day.

 

16  The Play Crowd went to Travelers Rest. $12.00

 

19  Debate in YPS and I started for home. Margaret drove me to Albany. Stayed at Jamie Wedlocks all night. Had bad cold and didn’t sleep. Poured rain.

Lorraine got home.

 

20  Got home with Bobbie. Bad roads and had

a great rain. Country looks better. Wind cold. Marion been sick all week. Tired.

 

21  Lovely day. Mother came down and had dinner here and went to shore and spent afternoon with Enid. Part of the Lion’s Head is down. Seven goslins hatched to-day.

 

22  Have 12 goslins hatched. Very busy day. Ernest sowing field across brook. Girls washed. Marion sewing. Pauline sick with cold. Ernest went to Harolds. Marion at Manse. Ham here.

 

23  Anita & I cleaned back porch. Marion made Lorraines white organdie dress and Lorraine ironed. Tired at night. Mrs Paynter brought Mrs Boas’ mat.

 

24  Lovely day. Reuel & Enid and Kiddies out to Cottage. Have 18 goslins now. Anita sick with cold. 73 chicks hatched. All for this year.

 

25  Colder. Put in quilt and girls cleaning laundry and sewing room. Ernest harrowing.

 

26  Big day for Webbs. Lemmie Wyand took us in to Convocation. Lorraine 9th in list of 154 names. I had dinner at Reuels. Got home for supper. YPS at North Rustico side went with Mr. Paterson.

27  Cold and cloudy. Hard weather on little chicks.
