7 Great rejoicing in lower Cavendish this AM. Alvah McNeills have a new boy this AM. Mother got a phone from Tryon to go down if she could. Fyfe boys down and took the girls to Creek.
8 Zero. Mother went to Tryon this morning. Cecil took her to Emerald and a car met her there. The men in the woods. Its very cold.
9 Bitter cold. Marion stitching a quilt. The youngsters went over to Jerrys hollow to skate. Not feeling extra good to-night.
10 Still quite cold and blowing hard. A snow storm this afternoon and still blowing. Got word to-day of the death in Halifax of Arthur Webb Miss Moores brother in law.

11 Just a perfect day all day. Anna & Mr & Mrs Bishop here this afternoon. Very tired at tea time. Girls went to Bob McKenzie’s to Young People. Keith went to Hunter River for extra parcel.
12 Snowed in afternoon and night getting colder. Victoria Hotel burned in CH town.
13 Was fine and good sleighing. Marion and Anita went to Wyands in AM to practice. Marion went up to Freds and stayed for church. Mr Murchison preached in the Baptist church at night. Stomach not good.

14 4B this AM and a howling snow storm and thermometer going down steadily all day. Blowing fierce all night. Did not get up to-day at all. No school.
15 12B this morning but bright and sunny. Elder James Simpson has been very sick with flu and is not improving any. No mail yesterday or to-day. Car Ferry had a propeller broken yesterday.

18 Raining some to-day and quite a thaw. Anna here quite awhile to-day. Feeling rotten all day. James Simpson pretty miserable. Letters from Maria. Will pretty poorly.
19 Very mild all day but colder and blowing hard all night. Dr Stevenson here this morning Stomach bad all day.
